  1. Yeah, 2 no bodies from the angels. what about the classy guys like eckstein, erstad, glaus, etc who have spent their whole careers there. Why have not you heard from them! He is a cancer to every team he has been on. Its about ME! not the team
  2. it is like ferry would know what it was like in a clubhaus. i would bet he never would be part of the marlins
  3. never will happen. bad chemistry
  4. possible but dont count on it.
  5. G$, dont know but I would bet that may have been the case. My guess he would have went with Bump or Howard first choice
  6. G$, lets just say that McKeon might have been told to pitch Kensing!
  7. DogFish replied to afer13's topic in Miami Marlins
Just an opinion like others share on this forum. far from a spokesman for McKeon, but maybe his agent
  8. DogFish replied to afer13's topic in Miami Marlins
I would bet he does not come back
  9. Please ferry. Redmond makes over $1M as a backup. Quality (in a lot of ways) bench player LoDuca - cant measure the intangibles. He is worth 4-5M minimum. will leave it at that! both are hard nosed just one has a little more going for him than the other. Bet both will be back?
  10. Yeah you are right. Use Benetiz whenever the situation dictates. If I remember correctly, not too long ago, Benetiz went on the DL with a sore elbow. Use him in the right save situation and let everyone else in the BP pitch to their ability or else we would not have him to use at all. Most of you do not seem to understand that a,. You can not win every game b. You may have a great closer but one who can not pitch every day, in every situation and any time c. a baseball team is made up of 24+ guys. d. this is not little league. Beinstaff and staff get paid to put the best on the field, McKeon and staff to use these personnel to the best of situations and for the players to play the game to be the best they can. Some days it works and others it doesnt.
  11. jack1 is always right. knows everything about the game and is a great fan. Funny that Kensing and Bump dont fit the mold. The only think the real Jack knows is that you know little about the game!
  12. I would bet that it was not McKeon's choice to start the A kid (kensing) in that situation. ! Curious to see if he starts anymore games for us, not because he did that bad or was intiminated, but because it is not the right time for this type of experiment.
  13. Working on a 1 year contract, it is not sure if management wants to retain his services. I would not be surprised to see him not re-sign and sign with the Phillies or another team looking for a different type of leadership (right or wrong). Only time will tell about this situation. Once you have been on top, you want to stay on top (atleast with the same organization). Not sure the Marlins have put enough resources in the pool to make this happen.
  14. It would be nice to able to rely on Koch but right now it is not the time. Koch will be around. They will keep him and allow him this winter to build back his confidence. If you go back in time, McKeon did the same for Mark Wohlers and he turned it around in Cincy but using him in a similar manner. It comes down to Koch's self-confidence and ability to work through the mental part of the game.
  15. id say more that lack of situational hitting and scoring less than 3 runs per game for "what it seems like" over a month or two. Not one game but two months. For all you who want Benetiz, my guess is he pitched an inning on Tuesday (hadnt pitched in a while and coming off DL) was reason you didnt see him. If he would have pitched and got hurt, you guys would be saying the SOS about overusing, blah blah blah.
  16. ferry, what are you talking about? Speed Where isnt speed being used? you maybe be a little league coach, but up here, the game is different.
  17. The guy is a veteran. Like Conine, they will work themselves out of their slumps. You guys think you have all the answers. I would not be surprised if he asked to be dropped down to 5th. Like someone said, he is our team leader..Demoting him to fifth does nothing.
  18. Yeah, The players did not hit with RISP, the pitchers did not get hitters out when they need to. Do we forget that this is a similar team to last years team without a few key hitters. Instead of being 7 deep in good hitters regularly, now we have only 4 deep with good hitters. Gap/Power hitting is missing badly from this lineup other than Lowell and Cabrera of which both have struggled mightily during key stretches of this season. Any manager will look different ways to make things happen in a positive manner. Second quessing is always easier when you lose.
  19. Try Again? is it up to 5th or down to 5th? "Lowell is too good of a hitter to bat 5th. Move him up to 5th for a couple of days, take his walks and let him break out of the slump" if Lowell bats 5th, who hits after him. You Mean Choi has been traded? I must not be paying too much attention
  20. yeah increase his obp so Conine and choi can knock them in. Oh, I forgot, neither can hit with RISP
  21. prospect? maybe a scouting job for you after graduating high school
