I don't believe anyone is overreacting. I am a huge LSU fan, but have refused to buy any merchandise with this logo because I find it juvenile and cheesy. Fans here even refer to this version of Mike the Tiger as "Toonces the Cat". All LSU gear I purchase now must have a retro look.

Kind of ridiculous, don't you think. I appreciate what Pudge did for us in 2003 and I always will, but it was still just one season. Charles Johnson was our first ever draft pick, a consistent gold-glover with some pop over multiple seasons with the fish and also won a world series (hitting a titanic blast in game one). I think he got short-changed. I was fine with all the other selections.

Seeing Piazza there was quite a surprise. Darren Daulton still looks like he's juicin'.

These games tonight have been epic. Especially the Rays coming back like they did. Wow. Just wow. This is why I love baseball more than any other sport. The drama is unparalleled.

The fact that Fielder is a lefty is irrelevant. I would rather have Pujols at the plate than Fielder in every situation...lefty, righty. When you are one of the best hitters in the history of the game, it doesn't matter where the ball is coming from.

I was among those who were calling for Javy's jead in June. I was wrong. He pitched great these last few months. I'd love, LOVE, to have him back next year. With him, a healthy JJ, Anibal, Ricky and CJ...WOW!

I like this move. I'm for signing Jose Reyes and moving Hanley to 3rd, keeping Gaby at first, Boni in Center, signing Buehrle and CJ. Aramis Ramirez is a year or 2 from being god-awful...trust me.

I feel like, in this forum, the percentage of those who don't like and those who do are similar to those who are from Miami and those who aren't. Also, I haven't really seen that many people who say they are fine with it because it's Miami but think it is seriously flawed. Unless I'm missing some people, Iowa and myself seem to be the only out of state people not liking it (and he's much less vocal in his displeasure than I am). Most of the criticism in this thread at least is coming from people who live in South Florida. I don't think it's an issue of people "not getting" Miami; I think it's simply where personal tastes land. I'm from Louisiana...and I absolutely abhor it.

1. The color scheme is awful. The resemblance to the OKC Thunder logo has been brought up before and is spot on. Way to "clip-artish" 2. The Marlin is horrible, amorphic and too disjointed from the main logo. 3. This logo has no 'staying power' and will need to be revised in the future. 4. Baseball is an old-school sport and deserves old school, classic, well thought out, artistic logos...not this clip-art, computer garbage. Miami is a city that has been established enough to not need it's baseball team to promote it's color scheme. Also, we have won 2 WORLD SERIES...why the need to rebrand the team? Just use the current logo, which is pretty darn sweet in my opinion and replace the F with an M? I would never wear this atrocity.

What an ignorant move for a rookie. Guys in his position should be happy they get to play in the Major Leagues at all. He's barely had a Vente cup of coffee so far. This will not endear him to our FO or that of the other MLB FOs.

I think we need to keep Gaby, LoMo and Stanton long term. They will all be very productive players for years to come if just given the time to settle into their careers. I am for keeping Hanley and JJ as well. The rest of the team is expendable.
