  1. Thanks for the heads up....but I'll be preoccupied with some other Marlins related drama that day...
  2. Great game...but why was that last play not reviewed? Looked close enough to a pass to at least get an extra look.
  3. The anti-stadium crowd is always going to be the loudest...it is in every city that wants to build a new stadium/arena. But just because one side yells louder doesn't make them right. We'll just have to get used to this anti-stadium garbage over the next 2 weeks. Hopefully, the commissioners know what is at stake and what benefits this stadium will bring to Miami. If they do, we'll have the last laugh on the 13th.
  4. If commissioners in Miami and Miami-Dade approve the plan, either government would have until June 30 to cancel the deal. ''If we are presented with a worst-case scenario by June 30, we can walk away,'' Mayor Alvarez said in his statement. I did not know this. This is troubling... This isn't new. Burgess mentioned the opt out clause when discussing the documents last week. He said it was included as a protection for all parties but didn't feel anyone would have any reason to use it.
  5. San Diego is awesome. Check out the USS Midway. Going to the zoo sounds lame, but the San Diego Zoo is incredible. Definetly can't miss that. Petco is a great stadium and the Padres should be pretty terrible this year so hopefully the Fish pick up three wins.
  6. Well, it really isnt another month....Thursday would have been the 22nd, so next month could only mean a week or so.....trying to be positive here!
  7. When I first heard we might trade Marion for JO, I wasn't happy about it. Right now in their careers I think Marion is a much better player but after really thinking about it, it makes since. A starting 5 of Chalmers, Wade, Beasley, Haslem, O'Neal can play with anyone in the league. Add in Cook and Zo(when he gets back) coming off the bench and I think that team is a legit contender. About Blount, his contract comes off the books this offseason so no matter what he won't be here for much longer. Riley is the man. Blount has 1 more year after this season left on his contract. He's waaay overpaid, but at least his deal ends by 2010. Plus he'll be a $7 million expiring deal next season and he'll be good trade bait...unlike Banks, who will have 2 years left after this season.
  8. If Marion isn't in the Heat's long term plans, and by now it seems evident that he isn't, and if they are convinced JO is healthy(and that is a big IF), and they can dump Banks and his contract, then I would make the trade.
  9. Good news that we will finally get this resolved. Does anyone know how we look with the commissioner votes? Do we have enough votes to pass this?
  10. This is just the type of chance the Fish like to take...cheap with big upside. I'm sure they're looking at him and I'd have no problem giving him a shot.

Now how are they going to do this? The Orange Bowl is January 3rd, so I guess Miami would play the following Sunday. or Do they postpone the Orange Bowl? The last time this situation happened was Jan 2, 1999 Miami beat Buffalo 24-17, and they moved the Orange Bowl game to the orange bowl where the Gators beat Syracuse. The Orange Bowl is being played on Jan. 1st.

It doesn't get better than beating the Jets, knocking out the Pats, and winning the division in the span of three hours! Go DOLPHINS!
  13. I can't believe it. FAU wins 24-21 Great win! Howard Schnellenberger doesn't lose bowl games. He is 6-0 all time...a new NCAA record.
  14. In case you haven't noticed, free agency as a whole has been quiet. It's not likely to pick up again until after the new year. Hopefully there will be some good bargains. I think the price tag on some of the players we have been interested in, like Pudge perhaps, will drop. The top end guys will get their money, but given the state of the economy, I think more teams are going to take a Marlins-like approach and not give out a lot of long term contracts to average players.

Its assessed on the following play, considering it was not an interruption to the play which caused the turnover. Dead ball. And no, the 49ers got the snap off on time. It was right as the clock struck 0 the ball was snapped. Are you so much a homer that the replay with the ball in the center's hand and the clock at 0 doesn't convince you that there should have been a penalty? I never understood why there isn't a buzzer for the play clock like there is in the NBA. To expect the referee to watch both the clock and the snap of the ball at the same time when a simple buzzer can do the job is pretty ridiculous. Anyway, when your coach's excuse is that his team should have been penalized to negate a sack, you don't deserve another chance. I see his point obviously, but still.... Anyway, Go Fins!
  16. He can't possibly be better against the Marlins than Aaron Heilman was. And I HATE Endy Chavez, he should stay in Seattle forever where he can't beat up on Marlins pitching.....that guy always seemed to kill our pitching staff for whatever reason. Not saying this wasn't a good deal for the Mets, but I'm glad those two are gone from 19 games against the Fish.
  17. Woo! 2nd straight Bowl for the FAU Owls. This bid was a shock. We started the season 1-5, had a ton of injuries, made a bunch of mental errors, but battled back and went 5-1 down the stretch to reach eligibility. Now we got lucky that things broke right for us to get invited to the Motor City Bowl. The day after Christmas in Detroit isn't exactly a vacation destination...but i'll take it!
  18. Where does the team play in 2011? Ft. Lauderdale Stadium perhaps. I really doubt crater is going to want us back in there after 2010. Hasn't he said before that the Marlins are out no matter what? He won't own the stadium by then, Stephen Ross will. Huizenga is selling 100% of his ownership of the Dolphins and stadium before Dec 31st, to beat the anticipated Capitol Gains tax increase that is likely to be imposed by the new Congress. So the Marlins need to be spending time with Ross' people not Huizenga. This isn't going to be an issue. They will play at DS in 2011. They make plenty of money off the Marlins and baseball fills 81 dates for them. Plus, I've heard that the Marlins have a much better relationship with Ross then they do/did with Wayne. To Ross, dealing with the Marlins is a business decision, whereas it was more personal to Wayne....or so I have heard.
  19. Heat improved to 7-6 with win over the Pacers. Wade was yet again amazing as he put up 38 this time. Wade was his usual awesome self and it was really nice to see Spoelstra stay with Beasley longer and give him a chance to play through foul trouble. It paid off, he played very well in the second half. It would be nice if this team can put together some back to back wins. It will be tough with a real good Houston team coming in next. I read in Ira's blog that Jamal Magloire might be back for the game on Monday night, so at least they could get some size back on the court.
  20. This offer is good for the game on Saturday vs. Indy. If anyone else wants the discount password and link, let me know.
  21. You can buy for all three using the same code. I think there's a ticket limit, but the code should work for all.
