Kevin Gregg Traded to Cubs
For a 21 year old reliever? Man, it's not terrible but I am starting to think Beinfest is rushing these trades. 21 year old reliever who was BA's #4 Cubs prospect last season for a guy we didn't want, was going to get $3-$4 million next year, and coming off of an injury seems like a good deal to me.

Miami Heat 08-09 Season Thread
Portland is damn good. They have so many big men, it would be nice of them to leave one behind on their way out of Miami. Good effort by the Heat tonight though. Undersized and shorthanded, they played well and hung in the game. Hell of a game by Wade, again. Marion's length and rebounding would have made a difference in this game. They are back at .500, but they continue to show signs of progress.

People keep telling me to unite and stand behind BO
President George W. Bush: "The election of Barack Obama is an historic moment for our country. There are a lot of people in America who did not believe they would ever see this day. It is good for our country that people have hope in the system and feel vested in the future and President-elect Obama has a great opportunity. I really do wish him all the best. I am just as American as he is American, and it is good for our country that the president succeeds." And that is why. Because you are American and you live in a democracy and the people made their choice. You don't have to like it or agree with it, but as an American you should want the President, regardless of party affiliation, to be successful for the good of the nation.

Miami Heat 08-09 Season Thread
shawn marion isn't doing a damn thing to warrant a contract extension. please move him. pronto. While he has been crap on offense, his defense is indispensable for this team. sorry. defense isn't worth $17 million I wouldn't be in a hurry to trade him. This team is still finding it's way and Marion is going to get more confortable in the offense. Plus, that expiring contract is a nice chip to have and it will be more valuable closer to the trade deadline. Also, if you trade his $17 million, it has to be the perfect package of picks and players in return. You don't want to take back a bad contract. If you can only get someone else's bad contract back for Marion, I'd rather keep him, let his deal expire, and use the cap space in the offseason.

Election Day tracking thread
And just remember in a year...this is what you wanted. As he ruins the country with a congress that wont oppose him and he wont oppose them, this was your poorly thought out decision. Golden horseshoe area of Ontario is calling my name. Wasn't a big Obama fan, but I hate it when people use the "I'm moving to Canada" thing. Democrats did it for Bush now Republicans are saying it now...if you want to go, go! No matter who wins, this remains the greatest country on Earth, if you don't want to be a part of it because of a presidential election, then please make good on your promise to leave.

Miami Heat 08-09 Season Thread
The defense was non-existent today. Kinda reminded me of the Dolphins' secondary. Hopefully they'll get their sh*t together and win on Friday. Lots of confusion on the court the first 3 quarters on both ends. I guess that is to be expected early in the season with so much youth and so many new faces. The 4th quarter was encouraging, especially if Cook can start hitting 3's consistently. Still, Wade and Beasley will get better playing together and that will make everyone else on the floor better. Chalmers and Haslem played great. This team will get better as the season goes on. I expect a much better showing against the Kings on Friday. BTW, I hate Jamal Crawford. That guy has been a Heat killer for 3 years now.

FAU wins on a 22 yard TD pass with 20 seconds left. They overcame a 21-0 ULM lead after a quarter and a half. From that point on, the team that won the Sun Belt and the NO Bowl last year finally made it's first appearence this season. That's two in a row for the Owls after a miserable start. North Texas is next after a bye week...so that should be 3 straight. GO OWLS!

What makes America great?
Freeeeeeedddommmmmm!!! And you support Obama?!?! So was this a poll put up just to bash anyone that doesn't support Ron Paul or any other 3rd party candidate?

30 Rock
30 Rock is hit and miss. Sometimes it's hilarious but other times it's really bland. I have seen every episode and will watch the 3rd season but definitely like The Office more. I just finished watching all of season 1 and 2 and I have to disagree with you I actually find it funnier than the Office and the characters seem so much more real and likable (don't get me wrong I love the Office but I like this more), I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at a TV show... And I officially love TINA FEY!!! Can't wait till October 30th!!! I agree, 30 Rock is the most consistently funny show on TV since Arrested Development. The Office is great, but it isn't laugh-out-loud funny like 30 Rock. By the way, you don't have to wait until Oct. 30th. The season premiere of 30 Rock will be shown on NBC.com and hulu.com starting on the 23rd.

WPBT Poll
this poll was pay by Braman that why he got win in poll all people want to poll ths poll is BS this interview is trap set by Braman to use in apppear How is the interview a trap? He's already lost. And if he did pay off someone to win the poll, it was a giant waste of money. Very few people have actually watched these interviews and the only people voting are probably us on this message board and people who work for Braman and his lawyers. Nobody else even knows that this poll exists. Not until he uses it as a mandate for his appeals and tries to get an injunction based on it. A lawyer can correct me if I'm wrong, but Braman not liking the decision is not grounds for appeal. They don't re-hear the entire case on an appeal. I believe that all the higher court does is determine if the lower court applied the law correctly. In this case, Judge Cohen has been exceedingly cautious to make sure her decision follows the written law. As for using this poll...No way any Judge would allow an Internet poll as evidence for anything.

I like FCS football. The playoff system is a lot of fun, and I certianly enjoyed it when FAU was #4 in the country and made it to the semi-finals in 2003. There is a message board (www.anygivensaturday.com) devoted to the FCS. There are a lot of people there that are very passionate about it and trash teams like FAU or FIU for having the gall to move up. They can't understand why teams like us would rather play in a low level FBS conference for a chance to go to a Bowl game in December then play for a national championship every year. They hate it when schools use their division as a stepping stone to bigger things. What they don't take into account is is that it is impossible for FCS teams to make any money and that you get virtually no attention nationally or in a lot of cases, locally. It isn't medicore football, it just isn't FBS football...and it isn't meant to be. There are a lot of good football players and teams in the FCS, but there is very little coverage and unless you went to a school with a FCS team, most people just don't care about it. It's just the way it is. Like the previous poster said, if it wasn't for the Michigan upset, nobody would know App. State had a team, despite being three time champs.

I'm not a big fan of the cowbells either, but if they help create an atomsphere, so be it. I was at the game last night and the building had a good energy.

Good win for FIU. I still want to see what they look like against one of the top Belt teams before saying they are a contender for the SBC title (we can all agree UNT blows and MTSU should be 0-4 in the Belt right now)...but nice job taking care of Middle Tennessee. Most people don't know this because, well they are Middle Tennessee, but thier fans on the internet message boards are mostly huge @ssholes, so it's good to see them go down. I just wish FAU could have knocked down that hail mary pass at the end of our game with them....still not over that one. Anyway. here's hoping that the Owls get their act together and we can finally have a really competitive Shula Bowl game this year. Who do you guys have next week? FIU is @ Troy next week competing for first place in the Belt. Agree that UNT blows, however, MT has one of the better defenses in the league that held FAU to only 13 points, plus they beat Maryland. Big win for FIU, they gotta come out ready against Troy, Troy always comes to play and has a hard hitting defense. Believe me, MTSU is bad. They held FAU to 13, but FAU fumbled at the 1 and had a drive stall inside the 10 yard line...not necessarily MT having a good defense, more of FAU playing really terrible offense (which it has all year so far). Anyway, good luck against Troy, their fans are obnoxious also.

The Florida Supreme Court case is still lingering
Since today was the deadline day, my guess is that she would wait until tomorrow to rule.

Design of Stadium
I think it's been pretty obvious for a while that breaking ground in Nov. and getting it built by 2011 has become unrealistic. So where do we play when Wayne kicks us out of Proactiv Stadium? If they have broken ground and the stadium is being built, I'm confident that Wayne would be willing to put up with taking all of our parking, suite, and concession revenue for an extra season.

What a finish in that FAU game, MTSU won on a last second heave to the end zone. FAU played a horrible game, MTSU played a worse one, how they won it, I have no clue. Can we not talk about last night, please!! It was a horrendous loss...probably the worst in FAU football history. That was the most heartbreaking football game I have watched since that Dolphins/Jets Monday night game a few years back. Next week against Troy is our season. If we can recover and win that game, we are back in the conference hunt. With that said, I am going to try and erase last night from my memory... Well i think FAU's 52-6 loss to FIU in 05 was the worst loss in team history, but this is a close second ...Good Luck against Troy That FIU loss was bad, although not unexpected. We were a team of freshman and sophomores that year against an FIU team full of seniors. Plus that game was over early. I can handle a loss where my team is overmatched or simply outplayed. Niether was the case yesterday. To lose a game we controlled for 59 minutes on a hail mary was waaaay more painful to watch then the FIU game. Besides, thanks to Don Strock and his NCAA violations, that game technically never happened!

Thank you 790 The Ticket
LeRetard doesn't even talk sports much on his show, even though it's on a SPORTS station. I love the LeBatard Show. Sports talk in general is pretty boring, it's usually whoever yells the loudest and longest. His show is entertaining because he talks sports in doses. Admittedly, his show isn't everyone's kind of thing, but I cannot stand to listen to a show like Jim Mandich's....or Hank's show when he was still on the air. Jim Mandich should just re-name his show to "Dolphins football talk." I can't stand the way he talks either...I feel like hitting the radio everytime I hear him. That is fine, it is obviously what he feels he knows best and there is an audience for football talk year round, but I hate it when he tries to sound knowledgible about other things. He is negative towards the Marlins and the stadium issue, doesn't know much about basketball, and isn't entertaining. I know others like his show, but I don't get the appeal. That Curtis guy that is his sidekick/producer whatever, is awful also.....just agrees with everything Mandich says. Thankfully, I have an alternative.

Proud of this team, for a very simple reason
Don't know if this is in another thread somewhere, but Gammons was on BBTN and said that with Maybin in center, shifting Ross to right, upgrading the right side of the diamond defensively (meaning Jacobs since Uggla was adequate defensively), and the pitching coming back, the Marlins will enter next year as a favorite in the NL East. Can't say I disagree. They were so close this year despite a first half rotation that was a trainwreck and a backend of the bullpen in the second half that was almost as bad. The WS seasons were obviously 1a and 1b in the list of best in Marlin history, but this year was pretty damn close. The games were competitive and exciting in wins and losses. That, and being in the race until the final few weeks, is all you can really ask as a fan. Well that, and ending the NY Mets season in the last game at Shea Stadium. Being a Marlins fan is never easy, but it is also never dull. I'm sure this off-season will be eventful as usual. I cannot wait for the stadium issue being finally resolved, spring training to begin, and being at the stadium in April for Opening Day (always the best day of the year)! GO FISH!!

FIU upsets Toledo for our first win of the season! Great job Golden Panthers! Good job by FIU. Didn't see that one coming, but I guess it isn't so suprising. FIU played fairly well against USF last week and Toledo isn't a very good football team. Regardless, a nice win for FIU. Congrats.
