June 28, 200422 yr i am off the "you can do it" side....i had faith in this guy...i thought he would shape up to his old toronto/oakland way but i guess not....o well he is now in my book a loser cause this guy cant go in inning without allowing a run....we cant trust this guy in the post-season...sorry billy but you let me down...your off the sig. Contenders for Sig: Conine,Harris,Choi, some girl,or something to do with the irish or UM
June 28, 200422 yr i just cant understand how a person could lose so much velocity so quickly... and he's only in his twenties. could he be injured?
June 28, 200422 yr Author i just cant understand how a person could lose so much velocity so quickly... and he's only in his twenties. could he be injured? yeh its kinda like a mystery
June 28, 200422 yr Koch is only 29 and in his Prime....... :plain Peak physical strength in Homo Sapien males occurs at age 27 (on average). Its all downhill after that. WOW! Man that might be a fact right there *Scary Movie 3*
June 28, 200422 yr He's only been here for like a week or two and Rosey said he isn't going to change anything with him, just minor observations and that's it. That is the problem IMO, Rosey needs to be working with Koch everyday on every aspect of his throwing and get him into shape.
June 28, 200422 yr He's only been here for like a week or two and Rosey said he isn't going to change anything with him, just minor observations and that's it. ditto!! I think they are just going to put him in blow out games and see how he pitches and then Rosie in a little while is going to start helping him! If they don't know whats wrong is kinda hard to fix it!! Koch does have good stuff! If he learns to keep the walks down he'll be fine Look what Rosie did to Fox and Urbina!!

Look at how much faith Jack has in him. He put him in a laugher. And he wasn't even worried about how many hits he'd give up.
June 28, 200422 yr yea but how long do we stick with this guy if he keeps stinking it up...i say if he has 1 more bad outting send him to the minors and work on it there big guy...
June 28, 200422 yr I was in Tampa this past weekend and saw Rosey working with Koch. Give them a little time!!
June 28, 200422 yr I was watching thursday's game on tbs and Don Sutton seemed to think that he didn't have the same velocity because he wasn't driving with his legs like he used to, and from what I've seen it looks like he has a point, but it would seem to me that that would be a very easy thing to fix, so I don't know.
June 28, 200422 yr He's just trying too hard to be what he used to be. I wouldn't draw any significant conclusions until after the ASB when he'll have some time to adjust to throwing in the low 90's so he can locate better. :thumbup
June 28, 200422 yr I was in Tampa this past weekend and saw Rosey working with Koch. Give them a little time!! I was at that game as well and the only time I saw Wayne go out to the mound was when Billy gave up runs. When did he 'work with him'?

June 28, 200422 yr After the all star Break if he still does this then there is a little bit of trouble, but right now he has showed that he can strike a guy out which is nice, but we will just have to wiat and see
June 28, 200422 yr I think you have to give this guy the Darren Oliver attitude "You're not gonna come close to playing unless we're up or down 10 runs" and let him work from there. Let him prove he can play with huge deficits and then gradually work him in to a role that would be more acceptable.
June 28, 200422 yr It might help him to face some National League teams too. All he's face is AL teams and I'm pretty sure they've adjusted to his slower pitches. I too saw Rosey working with him in TB on Sat before the game, I would give him a little more time----Very little!
June 29, 200422 yr how the hell is this guy our setup ......if ur up by a run and hes averaging one run a inning wit us y would u make himm a setup i say put manzy at setup hes been awsome n can bring a lead into the ninth
June 30, 200422 yr hey guys. im not trolling- i'm a sox fan, and just came by here to see how you were doing with billy koch. i dont think it was a bad trade on your part- minimal salary, possibly great effects with the change of scenery. do you still think hes going to work out? i love the marlins(as all sox fans do), and was hoping this would work out for them--- i just knew billy wasn't working out in chi-town and had to go. so best of luck with that. i know how you feel ---> :banghead :banghead
June 30, 200422 yr You know what guys? You are trying to "over-manage" the Marlins here worse then Jack does. I am officially sick of it. The guy has what 4 outings and is quite rusty from inconsistent use and you already want to send his ass to AAA. Give me a ****ing break. I am sure many of you disliked the Chad Fox move last year because "he was good in Milwaukee for a year" and was sucking it up like a hoover last year. Billy Koch has it, hes ony 29, and can do it. Whatever happened to last year where every move made by the Marlins was ACTUALLY GIVEN TIME TO WORK OUT. I mean you guys were all over DLee the whole year and now you miss his RBIs (This is no way in offense to Choi who has done well). Now I know some of you were trusting that Castro would work out but his work ethic flat out sucked. He looked listless in every little way. The FO couldn't even have predicted such a bombshell. And you know what else. Its not even the ****ing ASB yet. And were still in first place. There is obviously in influx of Miamian sports fans on this website lately (Being they are pissed at the Dolphins, even if they do well and ditto with other teams). There are so many pessimistic members here that its sickening now. I know that our record sucks but remember, every team has a bad month (unless your the Expos) and every team has its good months. Last year September and July were our great months and August, May, and April, were crappy months. Every other month was .500 baseball basically. /end rant

June 30, 200422 yr Billy Koch isnt the reliever we need to help us. He is making us worse, but i believe once he gets everything together he will be a dominant pitcher like two years ago when he had 40+ saves.
