July 31, 200520 yr I'm thrilled to have won the last 4 series. It involved a west coast trip where the Marlins are usually dreadful, plus the Pirates who have killed us lately, and the Nationals who we gained ground on in the standings.

July 31, 200520 yr Face it, this team has been in a hitting slump lately. And it's a not a bad thing, because we've been lucky to been winning when not getting a big night from the bats. Of course, thanks a lot to the great pitching. In the last 7 games we have scored 2, 3, 4, 3, 3, 3, and 4 runs. No offensive explosion in any of those games, yet a 5-2 record. Crazy enough...in the 9 games previous, we averaged 7.5 runs a game, with a 4-5 record.

Plus we're in the middle of a grueling 21 game in 20 day stretch. These guys are human. Every game from here on in is a big one. You can't play the guys 60 games in a row.
July 31, 200520 yr that umpire behind the plate was GARBAGE, he is the one that had the Marlins out there tooo long in the first few innings, if it wasnt for that, the Marlins would of pulled it out.......He did not give us the call on any of the corners on Moehlers pitches....

July 31, 200520 yr Houston is down by 5 in the bottom of the ninth and even the Phillies look to lose today...so the only team that we should worry about that won today is Atlanta...that ain't bad...we've been solid since we left Philly and we've cleared gained ground...we're looking good..
