Give Olsen Props!

been awhile, but Olsen really held in and pitched great. all his starts have been solid if u think about it. key thing is trying to get past 6th inning wit him. but he did good today.

Scotty was great and I like how he kept his cool when the phillies had 1st & 2nd with no outs and he got through it.

he gets a little antsy when there are runners on

but he's gonna be a damn good pitcher

i see him as a great #3, will prob win a ring before he's done

I was just about to post in the game thread that this was only the 2nd game all season that a pitcher had lasted 7 innings..... and then Girardi pulls him one out early. :D

Kept that pitch count nice & low, only two walks, lots of first pitch strikes, great early signs from the kid.

Olsen is not a #3. He's an excellent #2.

Olsen just flat out can pitch, the key with him is to carry him along slowly and make sure we protect his arm. Vargas will get his control back and will start blowing hitters away now we add Josh Johnson to the rotation and maybe Nolasco this team will start winning a heck of lot more games

I didn't get to see the game (as we all know by now), but I'm happy Olsen is doing well.

Olsen has been solid in his two starts, so that extra few games in the minors really helped him out. Maybe Vargas should get a start or two down there? :mischief2

Seriously, great job by Scotty and looking forward to see him in his next start.

You have to give Matt Treanor a lot of credit, everytime things were going too well, olsen leaving breaking stuff up, he would go out and calm him down. Think that was really important last night.

Olsen did great last year and I remember his first start against Tampa, I knew he would be great, I was mad when he got injured, I just wished Giardi put him in the rotaton earlier and let someone else sit out.

Why can't we hold moehler off for a while and go back to a small 4 man rotation period like last year?
