June 4, 200620 yr Wow wow wow. That and with supposedly no protection! Amazing... Great win today! Everyone contributed with either defense, the bat, or the shutdown pitching. Matt Treanor gets play of the game. Protecting that plate like it was game 7 of the World Series. Atta boy Matt!
June 4, 200620 yr depending on what Alexis Rios did today, that might put him at best average in baseball!
June 4, 200620 yr You do know Matt Treanor got some help from the ump right. Even the Marlins Annoucer disagree on the call.
June 4, 200620 yr I dont care what stadium situation were in.... GOT to find a WAY to sign CABS!! ITS A MUST!!!
June 4, 200620 yr Author Who the hell cares. Calls like that go both ways. We'd be bitching if it was us and Vice Versa. Its all part of the game. And no replay will ever definitively show that as he got the plate.
June 4, 200620 yr We will probably see the slow-mo on BBTN. Miggy is a beast, thats all I can say. Its nice that Miggy is not always trying to hit homers. Thats probably why he is having so much success.
June 4, 200620 yr You do know Matt Treanor got some help from the ump right. Even the Marlins Annoucer disagree on the call. i missed where any of teh announcers said the call was wrong, and the replays never show the hand actually touchin the plate

June 4, 200620 yr He's on fire, but he's not hitting for power, that's where the protection is really missed. Pitchers aren't throwing him that 2-1 or 3-1 fastball in important situations like they had to in the past.
June 5, 200620 yr The amazing thing is Miggy is able to put just about any pitch in play. His last hit today was a nice fastball right on the hands and he drilled it into CF. He's staying back beautifully and just going with what the pitcher's are giving him. It's a thrill to watch his mastery at the plate.
June 5, 200620 yr We got help on that call at the plate. It was a tough angle and the ump missed it. Good for us, bad for Colorado. Holliday needs to do a better job though of getting to the dish, Matty did an excellent job of blocking the plate and really it was bang bang. Not much you can do there but accept the call.

But he'll get hot soon enough in that regard. In other news, he continues to lead the NL in doubles.
