June 30, 200619 yr I hope you continue to do well with the Red Sox. Gonzo too. Just take it easy this weekend. Ironic, that the player 95% of the people on these boards thought was the biggest piece of s##t and completely done as a player is doing so well. Shows what we know. It will be nice to see you and Gonzo at the ballgame tomorrow.
June 30, 200619 yr Going to the ballpark tomorrow for the first time since last year. Can't wait to see Dontrelle vs. Mikey.
June 30, 200619 yr I'll be cheering for Mike when he comes up to bat all weekend long. I'm glad he's had success in Boston.
June 30, 200619 yr i'm hoping for mikey to get the collar all weekend long personally. after this weekend he can be as good as he would like again.
June 30, 200619 yr I never lost faith in Mikey. Never will. I'll be wearing my Lowell jersey t-shirt tomorrow (Marlins, of course).

June 30, 200619 yr i still think he's a piece of sh*t for making us trade beckett for less than his value. but naw, ill still cheer him. ill be there sunday and monday.
June 30, 200619 yr I'm not complaining about #25 at third He's a great replacement for Mueller for us. Can't help but wonder..he has a goatee...wonder if that's one reason why he was traded With all the talk about Beckett and Lowell, you're forgetting someone I'd say he's been pretty good at SS
June 30, 200619 yr With all the talk about Beckett and Lowell, you're forgetting someone I'd say he's been pretty good at SS Good riddance.
June 30, 200619 yr I'll be cheering for Mike when he comes up to bat all weekend long. I'm glad he's had success in Boston. Agreed. Couldnt happen to a better guy (just go easy on us this weekend Mikey) Funny Mike Lowell story (I'll keep it short). Last year while at at Marlins/Braves game in Atlanta, my brother and I sat 10 rows behind the Marlins dugout. Lowell makes the last out of the inning and starts jogging back the dugout. My brother and I are the only ones with Marlins jersey's on. Lowell see us at the last second and tosses the ball the opposite way he is running and I make a real nice one handed grab with my non-beer hand. I give the ball to my brother and tell him I'll go get another round to celebrate. When I returned, to my horror, my brother had given the ball away to some young Braves fan who was sitting about 6 rows behind us (my brother is 9 years younger than me but was in his late teens when he did this and plenty old enough not to something so idiotic) It was a quiet ride back from the ballgame that night. :banghead
June 30, 200619 yr To all the politically correct comments here welcoming the enemy back as if they were family, I say bulls***. Bury them. My hope is Mike Lowell goes 0-12, that his doubles in Fenway fall harmlessly into Josh Willingham's glove and Alex Gonzalez strikes out swinging at least ten times and makes the error that ends the Red Sox error-free streak. Am I being unappreciative of the past contributions? Sure, you could say that. But as far I'm concerned I'd rather win three games against the Red Sox and be that much closer to real wildcard contention than be 10+ games out and be thought of as a good sport.

Its not "politically correct". I will be there tonight, rooting for the Marlins and spewing venom at the opposition with great vengeance. But I spent way to many a night watching brilliant baseball from Lowell, and mind boggling defense from Alex to not welcome them home on their first AB of the night.
June 30, 200619 yr Screw that, I am gonna be cheering for Mikey even more now, after what others have said. It doesn't mean I am cheering for the opposing team. I am just showing respect to a player who means a lot to me. It's the same thing with Jeff Conine, for me at least.

Ahhh my friend I couldnt have said it better myslef. :notworthy :notworthy Sure I'll get there early to give a clap to Mikey, Alex, and Beckett but when that first pitch is thrown by the Dtrain, I'll be ripping them left and right when they come up to bat. Im a Marlins fan, not a Marlins fan of the past... Yea they were apart of our glory years and our bad years... They were there was for a while (lowell espically) but they are no longer Marlins and just like they have moved on I will move on.. GO GET THEM FISH!!!!! LETS WIN THIS SERIES!!!!
June 30, 200619 yr Author 03...I don't think anyone here said they were rooting for Lowell to get a hit against us. I know I didn't. Let him continue to do well after he leaves here. I'm just welcoming him back....Gonzo too. As expressed above by The Don, we all spent many years watching these 2. In my opinion, in their first At Bats, they deserve a clapping of hands from the crowd when they step into the box(Dontrelle can strike him out on 3 pitches after that). It's the classy thing to do. I'll be dissapointed in the fans here if it doesn't happen.
June 30, 200619 yr Seriously who ever goes to this first game needs to cheer for Lowell and Gonzo. They were here for a long time and deserve it.
