Rabbethan
Wins! Good things all around. I think Miller actually looked worse today than he did in his last start, but hell, his line was better and that's all that matters tonight. Nice to see us add on in the 8th and 9th. Beautiful stuff. Hotcorner
Baby steps for Miller. Mostly he was a mess but at least he was able to wiggle out of trouble tonight and never completely fell apart. Great to see Uggla heating up. And this just in: our bullpen is good.

Bret Hart
We are 9-4 (.692) against NL East teams. Also, I'm so proud our sharpness of bullpen pitchers.

MikeLowell
I guess Atlanta didn't want Miller's blood that bad after all.. Only got to watch through the 6th inning but I was still impressed. Ramirez and Jacobs are unbelieveable.

Marlins2003
I thought once Wiley went out there and told him to stop trying to finesse everything and throw the damn ball, Miller did much better. Maybe there's a lesson there.
Admin
I thought once Wiley went out there and told him to stop trying to finesse everything and throw the damn ball, Miller did much better. Maybe there's a lesson there. His velocity improved after that I believe. I was noticing several pitches at 94/95 that weren't there early on. AdrianneLove
Good game all around.. What I've noticed about Miller is that fact that he'll struggle in the 1st but then calm down for following inning. But he does get himself out of the jam with the help of our defense. Great batting again. 2 homeruns are always welcomed. Oh.. and I won! Let's hope Badenhop does good tomorrow night.
LordMagnus
He's still getting hit hard. Doesn't matter how hard you throw if its in a bad spot.
Erick
Positives 1. Andrew Miller had his best box score outing of the year. Perhaps he gains some confidence with his 1st W of the year. 2. The bullpen...did I, or did I not say, this bullpen was going to be really good before the year started? 4 more scoreless innings. 1 from Waechter (6th), Lindstrom (7th), Tankersley (8th), and Miller (9th). Waechter and Lindstrom got their 1st holds of the year. Tank got his 3rd. 3. More on Doug Waechter...anyone think this guy can surprise this year? He topped out at 94-95 mph with his fastball tonight. Never knew he threw that hard, and he's got some nice offspeed pitches. 4. The power continues. Hanley and Jacobs each with their 7th HR's of the year, setting the tone. 5. We manufactured runs in the 8th and 9th innings (insurance runs). We took advantage of Braves mistakes in the 8th, and Uggla hit a CLUTCH 2 out double in the 9th. No HR's, but we score some big runs. Nice to see, finally. Negatives 1. 3 errors tonight. Lets see an improvement on this tomorrow. 3 is too much. 2. I thought we could've chased Bennett early tonight, but after scoring 3 in the 1st, Bennett shut us out for 5 innings. It's a shame we couldn't use the Braves pen a little more, to make them tired for tomorrow night's game. But the win will do.

Rabbethan
2. The bullpen...did I, or did I not say, this bullpen was going to be really good before the year started? I'm all for tooting your own horn, but did anyone not say that before the season? As for everything else, I also agree 100%. You are why I don't post a "Good vs Bad" thing anymore. I can't compete! I just wait for you to do it and then respond with any agreements or disagreements.
AlexS
There was good and bad with Miller tonight IMO. Bad: Too many hittable pitches, couldn't place his pitches at times, started off with poor velocity and so forth. Good: He found his way out of jams, found the plate when he needed to, and didn't get rattled when he could have easily thrown in the towel and gotten knocked around. That said I think he should get two or three more starts and if there isn't some sort of improvement he should be sent down. Afterall isn't it better to have a stud later than blow his confidence now? Anyway great win tonight, looking forward to more.
