I was skeptical enough to think it would be singing the praises of the Marlins and Rays, but this sorry excuse for a sports columnist brought me back down to reality. I'm really pissed off by this. I made the third comment and called him a douche bag, but they bleeped the douche out. Homeboy thinks he's clever, but he's really a prick who points out the obvious and offers no legitimate insight. The only people who are justified in mocking the Marlins (and Rays for that matter) are the actual FANS who follow them religiously and actually CARE. I just graduated from journalism school, but even as an aspiring sportswriter myself, I have no respect for this assclown.

This is looking more & more like their year. It would be kinda neat to go back to Chicago down 3 games to 2, and stick to them once again. But if that happens, you think the media hates the Marlins now, just wait and see what would happen to us in TV & print if we screwed the media out of its great "Cubs in the World Series" story a 2nd time. You do know this is one reason the media hates us, because of 2003.

June 24, 200818 yr Author Looks like I inadvertently started some sh*t with T & B. Whatever, that's why I finally registered here and not there after years of being a detached Fish fan. As for Hyde and his columns, I know his track record but I was extra cranky about it last night because a.) I'm sick of the local media doing what the national media already does in bashing us (the local press should be better than that), and b.) I was hoping to drive down for the Citrus Series but I can't because I am a broke, unemployed college grad and that "column" just reminded me of my misfortune. But at least I have my newfound Marlins support group...

The man seems to be humanly unable to write about the hometown baseball team without it either being just a nasty hit job or poorly done snark at the team's expense. I know the column was a lame attempt at satire, but what bothered me about it was the whole "Thousands of tickets are still available" jab. Yeah, Dave, like how 195,000 tickets sold out in 2003 in about two hours flat. Let me know when he's done humping Norman Braman's leg.
