July 2, 200818 yr Jacobs :barf Calling McPherson, may I please speak to McPherson? Anyone still want Jacobs here, I dont.
July 2, 200818 yr Author Did we really need another Jacobs thread? Dude, just use one of the other 7 Jacob threads. Yes we did, I wanted my own Jacobs thread :lol
July 2, 200818 yr These polls never work when I try to vote. The question should really be: Who sucks more, Jake or Hendrickson?
July 2, 200818 yr You can never bash Jake or Mark enough. This team needs to act faster when obvious changes need to be made. It's not as if we need to go outside of the organization to find a solution for these two.
July 2, 200818 yr JJ'S back by the end of the week Mcfearson is a mystery because jacobs is a beinfest player
July 2, 200818 yr I would like to go on record with saying that I've wanted Jacobs traded since the beginning of the season.
July 2, 200818 yr or new mexico, although I have a feeling based off 2003's previous post that he'll expand on that haha.

July 2, 200818 yr Basically, I'm very positive Jacobs still has 2 options left (only one used with the mets, none used with us. But due to the secretiveness of both the rules and transactions themselves by MLB, can't state matter-of-factly), and he can't block being sent down. So, sending him to AAA and calling up Dallas would be far from the worst of ideas. Would send him a message, would send the team a message, and would send the fan base a message. And based off the recent demotions of Lindstrom and Rabelo, it seems like something the FO might actually be willing to do. You're also looking at someone who could just use the chance to figure things out, because fact remains he's a power lefty bat. Rather than trading him for pennies on the dollar, it'd give us a chance to see if he can work back into form. Fact remains he's hitting arbitration next season, and that fact along with his performance on the field means he very likely won't be here next season. If we can't find a trade partner, we probably just don't offer him a contract. Right now all he's doing is hurting his value and hurting the team. In AAA, he could regain some value for a possible trade and we can see if Dallas is the real deal.

July 2, 200818 yr This can and will apparantly be debated until the end of time, Folks this is the team that you've got. Without Jake or Hendrickson or Cody or whoever's thats on the team its still overachieving. *** NEWS FLASH**** This isn't that good a team! It has no depth in the rotation, spotty to thin bullpen, no bench depth, especially with Andino as an option, no proven centerfielder, career back-ups as starting catchers. Changing just one player or players isn't going to drastically change what this team is. So yes I voted to keep Jacobs at least until the end of the year, it doesn't seem to be that big an issue.

No bench depth? Gonzalez, Helms, Amezaga, Andino, Hoover is a pretty solid bench.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T! first off you were WRONG when you said we aren't that good of a team, because if we weren't we wouldn't be A GAME AND A HALF BEHIND THE PHILLIES HALF WAY THROUGH THE SEASON. and i suppose the phillies are a good team. Second, no pitching depth? we dont have all those prospect pitchers in the minor leagues for nothing. PLUS, we still have sanchez, JJ and mitre coming back. AND DONT TELL ME NOT TO EXPECT THEM TO PITCH LIGHTS OUT WHEN THE COME BACK, BECAUSE I AM AND THEY WILL! THIRD, our bullpen is spotty? i think you forgot about april and may, when we had the best bullpen in the LEAGUE! they had one bad month calm the F*** down. We have a good bench with amezaga, helms and gonzo. and our catching and center field situation may be bad, BUT you cant expect us to have an all-star in every position. AND WHEN WE WIN THE DIVISION THIS YEAR, YOU BETTER NOT BE CHEERING BECAUSE YOU ARE A WORTHLESS FAN, IF YOU ARE ONE THAT IS.
July 2, 200818 yr Maybe a team like the Pirates would take Jacobs for a decent middle reliever....its an upgrade over LaRoche anyhow.
July 2, 200818 yr i really think jacobs has so much potential and i just wonder sometimes if he even works on things that he does wrong or if anyone tries to help him because he does the same sh*t over and over again....the truth is that a lot of his mistaks can be fixed easily. does anyone have like an email for jake so that way i can tell him what he is doing wrong lol??
July 2, 200818 yr I say send him to AAA for a few weeks then see what he is doing there. A little PCL ball can't hurt a power hitter like Jake. Let's see what McPherson has.
