Not all that bad, considering you can say the same thing for the opponent.

For all the tough losses we've had...we've also had several victories that the opponent probably should've had (based on these standards).

 

The Marlins ARE among the league leaders in comeback wins, as well.

It was all that team hitting slump and it really irks me because...well i have said it all before. Lets be positive going into 2009

It would hurt but I am enjoying the moment that I am experiencing right now.

Not that bad. You have to remember that at the beginning of the year we were expected to lose over 100 games, but now look at us. Playoffs or not, this season is a success.

The only way it would hurt for us to miss the playoffs at this point (IMO) would be if we lost a 1 game playoff to the Mets. That would suck.

What would really hurt is if the team gave up and not at least take some people down with them, and that's exactly what we are doing, done with the Astros, PHILIES AND METS ARE UP! But this.... this is pure fun my friend regardless of the end result.

There is reason to believe that we will be a very good team going into next year. That's the first time I could say that in a few years, so I am happy.

Had we been in control then suffer a Muts style collapse then it would hurt.

 

If a team is not gonna make the playoffs it is better the way we have been playing, having dropped back in August, then finishing the year with a winning streak, fun baseball and a positive attitude. So if we miss by 3 or 4 games then I will NOT be devastated. I will view the season as a major improvement from last year and eagerly anticipate 2009 when we will have a much more realistic chance of winning the division.

Considering how bad this season was supposed to go, according to the media and even most of us, no, it won't hurt that much.

 

And I know all of us thought better of the team than did the media, who was predicting 100+ losses for us. But still, who actually thought at the beginning of the season that this team would be over 500 and within 5 games of a playoff spot into the last week of play? Who thought this team would actually be better after having lost Cabrera & Willis (not even to mention what happened to the Tigers, who were supposed to be monsters after that trade)?

 

Whether or not we go to the playoffs, we should all be happy with this season and everyone should be looking forward to next year.

Thats the crazy part. I was SURE they would win at least 100 games and the marlins lose 100 games. but lol in the end we came out to be better than them.
