Cheers to a hell of a season

This has been one of the crazier Marlins seasons I have followed. Hot streaks, slumps, just the inconsistency has been unbelievable. But the bottom line is that they are in line to become the 3rd best Marlins team in franchise history record wise. Something I think we are all proud of this team accomplishing.

Record in final 10 to reach 3rd: 4-6.....sooo doable!!

Hell yeah! Only 2 more wins and we officially finish over .500! WHO THE HELL SAW THAT COMING?!

Me. There were a couple others as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first season in franchise history where we'll finish with a better record than the Braves, which is nice.

It has been a great season. If Gregg had blown 5 saves instead of 9, we'd be right in the thick of things. Oh well.

Next year, we'll be a very solid team, particularly if we can get some extra speed at the top of the lineup. I am hoping Maybin comes out of nowhere and does a great job for us next year. Move Cody to right field, move Hermida for some bullpen help.

Gregg's blown saves, Pinto's ineffectiveness over that span after the break, and that huge hitting slump is what damned the team.

I hope next season we go out and improve this team, which is very possible. Add some speed, defense, and contact hitting.

You are right, sir.

Well, I predicted 80 wins, so I was close. That said, I'm an optimist. But still, we should end with something like 85 wins. Wow.

i predict a WS in 09 then the dynasty begins in 2012 with consecutive playoff apperences until 2016 and 3 WS to go with it

A confident young lad u are.

we do have the makings of a dyansty IF the team decides to go against history and NOT have a fire sale, hopefully we try to keep a team together, and not just trade everybody off

We need to win our last 10 because we could make the playoffs and I predicted a 90 win season. So come on Marlins, do it for my gift of prophecy

W/E happend though it was a great year especially the WALKOFFS

and im gonna like next years run to the playoffs

Im with MR.marlinpride. I really see the marlins challenging for the world series next year. and then in 2012 i see a GREAT team that will continue to be great for a decade

I saw it coming :D But I getcha, none of those stuck up assholes at ESPN, or blah blah blah gave a sh*t, they all projected us as last, so take that biatches!

To a good season!

I think we were all sayin the same thing, I believe after the 03 season, then we kept on trying to contend, but Loria just didn't have the right parts, then in 06 he basically stocked the team wit prospects, basically telling the fans we give up and are waiting at least 3 years to contend. I hope they do not do that after this year, but i would not put it past Loria and Beinfest to do that

Those types of decisions (financial moves) have nothing to do with Beinfest. The only thing Beinfest has done is make Loria look good.

yep, I retract what i said, I wouldn't put it past LORIA to gut the team again

He did what he had to do. When you over spend to make yourself competitive and yet no one goes to the games something has to give. So it was our payroll. For the time being, with the new pond on the horizon, I think the payroll will be about middle of the road. After a couple years in the new pond if the attendance drops back to near bottom of MLB, then watch the gutting begin. And I wouldn't blame him. Again. And everyone that sits at home and watches the games will be saying it's not their fault, it's because our owner is a cheap so and so. Again.

It depends on the stadium. Word is they're going forward with the General Obligation bonds to finance construction of the stadium, but that is not 100% guaranteed. I have inside info on this.
