January 15, 200917 yr I don't know how many people watched hot stove tonight but we got about 5 min of love. Lieter was all over us. They really gave our staff alot of attention saying how great it can be. Of course they talked about our infield and power there. Oh yeah they kinda steered away from the attendance thing but it was mentioned and how it allows our guys to play with no pressure.

January 15, 200917 yr Wow. A few thoughts. What praise from Harold Reynolds! I wouldn't say we have the best 1-12 in the big leagues - that's a stretch (although we certainly have enough talent to eventually be in that conversation in the coming years). But, as others have said, nice to hear the good news and a positive spin on the attendance stuff. Also, gotta love the Andrew Miller/Big Unit comparison. If he comes anything close, wow. Thank you, Harold, for not framing the Red Sox inquiry as anything more than that. Instead of saying "they discussed trading Hanley back to Boston," he just says that the Sox wanted him back because he's so good. That guy mentions the "1997, 2003, 2009....you do the math!" Yokofox, you should sue! And that didn't even make it to our top 3 potential slogans. My favorite part of all was around the 2:57 mark when they are showing a clip of Cameron Maybin and his windmill run. Awesome.
January 15, 200917 yr does Comcast have MLB Network? I have the DVR stuff so I'm just wondering. It's 279 for me on Comcast in Miami-Dade.
January 15, 200917 yr MLB Network > Baseball Tonight Just like how the NFL Network > NFL Live. I've had enough of ESPN's northern bias. It was time for a change, and these networks are bringing it to us!
January 15, 200917 yr I have NEVER EVER heard sooo much praise being thrown at the Marlins...for years it has always been negative comments...but FINALLY we awarded with praise that we've deserved for a long time...Al Leiter and Harold Reynolds are awesome even if Reynolds was fired for molesting a female co-worker haha...and i do believe we have the best 1-2-3 punch in our starting rotation in all of the NL...our bullpen isnt bad either...love the fact that we have Proctor setting it up for Lindstrom and that we MAY sign Chad Cordero...all i can say is that i have high hopes for 2009

I forget what the show is called at the moment but it has Ron Jaworski, Sal Palontonio and I think Merrill Hoge... it's pretty much my favorite sports program

January 15, 200917 yr Harold Reynolds can say what he will about the Marlins, and I know nothing of the real nature of the incident that caused his removal from ESPN, but I will say this: 1) a production manager at ESPN told me that Harold was about the nicest guy he ever knew; 2) and many years ago, around 1990, a couple kids from my hometown of Juneau, Alaska, were at some batting cages in Scottsdale, Arizona, hitting next to Harold it turned out. He introduced himself and gave them some hitting tips along with a couple bats and a roll of quarters to keep on hitting. Only really decent folks do something like that.

January 15, 200917 yr And a few days ago on Hot Stove Magrane was (is this too strong a word?) "bashing" the Fish so coverage will depend on who the teams of analysts are. We're going to hear good and bad all season but at least it won't be Krukie (although I love the guy) with his Phillies first attitude or BBTN just plain ignoring a team as if they don't exist. I think for most fans of most teams the biggest complaint about BBTN and ESPN is ignorning teams, especially when they are going well in order to do that extra four minute piece on changing laundry detergents at Yankee Stadium.

Volstad technically could be referred to as a "Power Sinker" guy... not that far off from Reynolds's assessment
