poptart
good, why the hell would they honor Bobby Cox? might as well just celebrating Russian Independence Day in the USA or something. i THINK people might remember him regardless. and i think there might be like 50 people at todays game. What gives? We said many many times that the game starts at 12 today!" Tommy: *snore* Rich: "...Tommy?"
SilverBullet
He deserves to be honored but the Marlins have no obligation to do so and thus I see no problem in them not choosing to do anything extra for him.
mystikol87
I was at the World Series game when the Marlins fans gave Roger Clemens a standing ovation as he exited the game. That worked out well for us.......

fanofthefish
I was at the World Series game when the Marlins fans gave Roger Clemens a standing ovation as he exited the game. That worked out well for us....... Well that was a little different,as Clemens clearly stated he would be retiring for good from baseball following the World Series. Of course that was before he pulled a Favre and unretired. I really don't see what the fuss is about, are the Marlins supposed to get him a rocking chair or something. Maybe boxing gloves so it doesn't hurt his wife soo much when he mistakes her for a punching bag

Sirspud
Bobby and Fredi can celebrate with a night out on the town. I don't know if Bobby has noticed, but this team has played a lot better under a guy like Edwin than an "I look the part of an MLB manager but don't have any great qualities" Fredi. Hammerhead
“I know that guy [Loria] is unpredictable, but I was still….After everything [Gonzalez] has done for that guy, are you s——- me?, Cox told reporters before Wednesday’s game against the White Sox. “[The Marlins] have gone down to the end every year, playing their asses off. That guy doesn’t appreciate anything. He’s one of those guys that thinks you change [for the sake of change]. He’s always wanting to fire the coaches, always. That’s his history. Guess they forgot about this. Why should the Marlins feel obligated? Cry me a river. You bashed the team, so get over yourself. (Of course I understand these are the statements of a journalist and not Bobby Cox himself.) He didn't really bash the team, just Loria. But still, I agree.
