March 15, 201115 yr This was made for a reason I thought it was just to try to get the circus to use our venue.
March 15, 201115 yr This was made for a reason Yeah. It was made to reflect the different colors the areas of the stadium are going to be. Those are not the team colors. Not a chance. Exactly. The "reason" doesnt have anything to do with the team colors
March 15, 201115 yr yeah. it was made for the NEW BALLPARK. the new colors will be blue/black/white with a hint of orange. book it motherf***ers.

The "reason" doesnt have anything to do with the team colors Actually, I agree w/ both contentions, 1) That there's "something to this" AND "the colors just represent the different areas of the ballpark." When you look at just about every single Ballpark logo, they reflect the team's colors in someway. I think what's important here is to focus not on the "rays" at the top (I agree, these correspond more to the seating sections than anything else), but the stripe in the middle. What color is it? What colors are around the redish/orange stripe? Black, White and Grey/silver. The team's Marketers haven't been weening us off teal and pushing orange for 8 years now only to settle on Blue, Black, White and Silver. That's too similar to the color scheme and current identity today. Every idiotic statement that comes out of Loria and Samson's mouth concerning our identity, colors and logo revolve around "total change" and "Completely new identity." If they just swap out the teal for the blue, I think many fans are going to say "what's the point?," continue wearing the old teal stuff and not buy the new blue stuff. No, Marlins owenrship are going to want us to run out and buy the new Miami Marlins stuff, and in order to do so, the brand has to be significantly different for many fans to "bite." I know enough about marketing and brand awareness to be dangerous, so you can "book" that: 1) One or more of the Marlins new color scheme is contained in the ballpark logo and 2) the new color scheme will be completely different from the current. Also, I'm completely expecting the orange swish to be the new "tail" under the new Marlins script on the jerseys. It's roughly the right angle and graidation to make a futuristic, stylized update to the classic script tail. Once again, it's about synergizing brand recognition.
March 15, 201115 yr Yea wait a minute... the stadium hasnt even been named yet! We don't know the "real" stadium logo until at least a few more months. This one we're analyzing now is basically a placeholder to hype up the fact that the park is coming... this isnt THE logo yet.
March 15, 201115 yr If you say so.. We shall find out on 11-11-11 W/e it is, fans aren't going to be happy with it, that is already known.
March 16, 201115 yr The logo that has been released, I believe, is for nothing more than promotional purposes and the patch on the sleeve for the first year. Black and orange will be it.
March 16, 201115 yr If you say so.. We shall find out on 11-11-11 W/e it is, fans aren't going to be happy with it, that is already known. please tell me the winning lotto numbers aunt cleo Well no one wants to see the teal go away, we all know its gone... therefore many will be disappointed

According to a recent statement from Samson, we will know the stadium name by Opening Day this year. I haven't read or heard anything different.

But its premature to just say the new colors etc are going to suck. I'm really hoping for a total shocker and for people to be happy (not holding my breath) Im not saying there going to suck, but it'll be different. The logo as well will be very different... Everyone is accustomed to the Marlin on the F. The "new" marlin will looking nothing like it.
March 16, 201115 yr I don't mean this in a bad way but how do you know? I mean it's logical to think it will be different but you make it sound as if you have inside knowledge. Again I don't mean it in a bad way just asking fish4life.

Again I don't mean it in a bad way just asking fish4life. Im not saying I know, because i don't. nobody will know until its released on that day... (except the front office of course.) If I did know I would be going nuts telling everybody :lol however.... Yeah, he said it today while he was in the booth. He also said they have been drawing up samples of the logo and colors and running it by groups of preselected fans and making the majority ruled adjustments.
March 16, 201115 yr Author I figure they must have to sign confidentiality agreements to participate. If not I'm surprised no one from this board has come forward. Hopefully they have people who are actually rabid fans and not just random focus groups.
March 16, 201115 yr This was made for a reason You've got to be trolling. You've... just got to be. I swear I'm going to cry if we have something like that disgusting retro Houston Astros jersey. Idk wtf I'll do with my life.
