vazquez is so bad. i thought his yankee season was a fluke and he'd go back to the player he was for the braves but he was just a waste of money. 8 million to vazquez and helms is hard to swallow when he could have used that money to improve other areas on the team

Lets Bring up Buente, for those who didn't see he had a complete game 1 ER, putting his ERA at J. J. level 1.26

He just said he thought this was a reasonable signing at the time, and he's saying it looks bad in hindsight. That's nothing like what you say. And aside from his dumb comment about Rondo being "tougher" than the entire Heat roster, he's a reasonable poster, again unlike you.

i'm Not saying he is comparable to J.J. aka best pitcher in the major leagues. I'm saying he has an unbelievably good ERA in the highest level of minor leagues, and a hitters league i might add. I think as long as sanabia is still on the DL, I would love to see him pitch instead of Javy.

I thought there would be a medium. I thought being at Yankee Stadium rocked him and that he'd be a lot better than last year, but that he'd also lost some velocity and wouldn't be a sub 3 ERA guy anymore. I thought he'd be a mid 3/low 4 ERA guy. I think we're all vastly disappointed in Javy, he's throwing meatballs in all his starts.

We've got a lot of games ahead of us. It's nice we got off to such a nice start early in the season, as I don't worry as much about losing these kinds of games. Phillies are better, and we all already knew that.

JJ/Halladay and Lee/Nolasco the next two games. Both will be tough, but both are also winnable. Let's do it.

I agree; I thought he'd give innings and have an ERA in the low-to-mid 4's.

Again, he wasn't even this bad last year.

His velocity is gone and now he hangs pitches with two strikes, I hope the FO acts sooner rather than later and admits signing him was a mistake. If we want to keep ahead of the Braves, we can't have both Vasquez and Volstad in this rotation.

Send Vaz down to AAA Voo--New Orleans. I'm sure some of the Voodoo--err--AAA magic will rub off on him.

"I wish I had an explanation for you guys, but I've got nothing," Vazquez said. "Just frustrated, I'm embarrassed with the way I'm throwing. That's all I got. I'm trying my best. That's all I can say. He cares."

Added manager Edwin Rodriguez: "The command is not there and he's not going to overpower anybodyÂ…He cares about what's going on. As long as he cares and wants to do good and battles, we're going to keep throwing him out there. Let's see how far he can go and how many innings he can give us."

well i dont think hes going anywhere right now. he shown he can do some good but he better f***ing start now and keep it that way.

This is the major leagues not little league! That's great that he cares and wants to do good but it's not winning games.

same f***ing garbage against the phillies just a different year.

vazquez f***ing sucks and as much as ive pulled for him im pretty damn sick of him now.

i f***ing yelled so loud when bonifacio grounded out on the first pitch i saw stars.

same here...ive tried really hard to pull for him and stand up for him...but he doesnt help himself...when's sanabia coming back?...or just give koehler a shot already

I will as well admit I have been an optimistic believer in Vazquez getting his stuff turned around, but not longer his stats show he has been consistantly bad at giving up hits and runs thus far in the season.. Sanabia, Buente, Koehler... someone else, can and will fill his spot, it sucks we don't have a dominant lefty though.

F*** caring. Caring doesn't equal winning when you don't have it anymore

Just looked a t a photo gallery of him on ESPN. It just shows pix of him from his Yankees days standing on the mound after giving up a home run, or him walking off the field after being taken out of the game early. Really sums up what we're getting with him.

and if Edwin ever wants to make the playoffs he can't have this mindset either, obviously the guy is making money and it's a difficult situation, but what's to make me think anything will change?

Its good to hear he doesn't like being awful, and thats fine that Rodriguez belives in him. but one more egg like that, i'm sry he needs to go to the minors.

I'll admit I'm gonna be greedy this year as far as wanting this team to make playoffs. We have a really great start to the season and I don't want to see an epic slide to .500 or under like when this team started 11 - 1. If this team has playoff aspirations, then there can't be room for mediocrity. If someone ain't panning out, upgrade him, don't care how. This team has a few weak links right now.

These are the games you want to win. Phillies are our main rival and every game we win or lose goes two fold in either direction. Dropping to washigton wasn't as bad as losing against the phillies. I'm not chasing the wild card and you are going to have to beat the phillies to win the division. Missed the game so can't provide any insight.

Vazquez was the chief culprit, but there was some sloppiness on the field today. Stanton mishandling a few plays, Buck trying to throw out baserunners in Canada, 9th inning hit that falls in fair and kicked foul by Phillies and the runner missed first / didn't go to 2nd on it.

CARING IS SHARING.

Really, Edwin? Really?

He's jut supporting his player in the media, which is the right thing to do in the media. He can do or say something completely different behind close doors, and we don't need to know anything about it. Don't read too much into these quotes.

Except we know that Edwin went out of his way to get Vazquez here. If it were any other player, I might agree, but he seems to like Vazquez a lot more than he should.

they have known each other for years.
