December 7, 201114 yr Author Cj wilson has 6-yr offer from #marlins, says tom verducci of @MLBNetwork. Could be new favorite.
December 7, 201114 yr The "analysts" on MLB Network saying that the Marlins offer would be paying #1 option money to a pitcher who, on a good team, would be a #3 guy in the rotation. Don't know much about Wilson to comment.
December 7, 201114 yr I am not comfortable with anything past 4 years unless the AAV is extremely low. He is going to be 37 at the end of this contract...
December 7, 201114 yr Are they panicking by going to 6 years? I think so. With the Pujols thing collapsing, they are desperate for that "third piece" they talked about and want to get something to announce sooner rather than later.
December 7, 201114 yr Giving Buehrle 3 years seems like a much safer play True, but they may want both.
December 7, 201114 yr Giving Buehrle 3 years seems like a much safer play True, but they may want both. I'd love to get both.
December 7, 201114 yr Giving Buehrle 3 years seems like a much safer play True, but they may want both. This will make me forget all about Pujols in a second.
December 7, 201114 yr Giving Buehrle 3 years seems like a much safer play True, but they may want both. That would be fantastic!!! It would be a great team on paper.
December 7, 201114 yr Hell why not just dish out all of our pitchers and get the rotation of Johnson Wilson Buehrle W. Rodriguez Oswalt and Anibal can be bat boy. And the rest can go to hell.
December 7, 201114 yr Would rather have Prince/Buehrle than Wilson/Buehrle. If we can have a rotation of JJ Wilson Buehrle Anibal Ricky I wouldn't care about Prince. We have a 1st baseman....and he's cheap.
December 7, 201114 yr Yeah, Ricky as a #5 pitcher, despite being overpaid, actually makes sense. Anibal is easily a #3, so having him at #4 would be great. Both Wilson and Buehrle are like #2 pitchers, flex #1. I'd be so happy with that rotation.

Don't know much about Wilson to comment. CJ Wilson had fWARs of 4.6 and 5.9 the last 2 years. The idea that he's a #3 pitcher is a joke.
December 7, 201114 yr jonmorosi Jon Morosi Source: If #Angels don't match #Marlins' six-year offer, C.J. Wilson likely to sign with Miami. @MLBONFOX

We have a 1st baseman....and he's cheap. Obviously I wouldn't complain... I just get a little happy in my pants thinking about the offense.. and think we could find an upgrade in the rotation by sending Gaby/Dominguez somewhere.
