C.J. Wilson to Angels

Featured Replies

These f***ing Nationals are a thorn on our side. It's really important that they don't have a very good offseason.

Would any of you be comfortable with giving Wilson 6 years anyway?

I feel like six years is a lot for any pitcher. Three years, four at most for elite pitchers, with age and health also being factors. But that's just me.

I'd rather overspend on Buehrle for 3 years than give Wilson 6, that's for sure.

8:30pm: Marlins still have an offer out to Wilson, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com.

7:42pm: Pitcher C.J. Wilson is not a top target for the Nationals, tweets MLB.com's Bill Ladson. One person told Ladson that the left-hander isn't really on the club's radar screen.

5:41pm: Wilson's suitors include the Nationals, Marlins, Rangers, Angels, and Red Sox as the meetings commence, sources tell Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports (via Twitter).

4:45 p.m. ET: C.J. Wilson has a six-year offer from a team other than the Rangers, reports Jeff Wilson. MLB Trade Rumors notes the Rangers, Angels, Nationals, Marlins and that dreaded "mystery team" are currently in the mix for Wilson's services. If he comes off the market, expect the heat to increase on the already-beloved Mark Buehrle. The two are easily the best left-handed starters out there.

If we could get Buehrle on a 3 year deal while the Nats give Wilson 6 years... that would make me very happy.

Every seems to be forgetting that Oswalt is available too. He is apparently looking for a 3 year deal according to mlbtraderumors.

Lol Bill Ladson. The American Bin Laden .

Heyman just said on MLB that the Marlins just offered CJ a 6 year offer. Not sure I like this contract length.

Sorry guys, I don't know an appropriate topic for this.

MLB Network just reported that the Marlins offered CJ Wilson a 6-year deal.
