The Winter Meetings are in Dallas.

:lol

Jon Heyman just said Angels unlikely to go to 6 years also agrees this may be in the bag for the Marlins.

Albert Pujols was just playing us for more money, now if CJ Wilson somehow turns down a 6-year deal to go to the Rangers or Angels...maybe we're not the hot free agent destination we thought we were.

Is it the fact our rumoured offer is 6 years to a pitcher, that worries you, or the fact that he will be 37 when the deal finishes?

Because CJ has only 2 full seasons as a starter of over 200 innings since he used to be a RP. Does this translate to more gas in the tank in his mid 30s?

Are they panicking by going to 6 years?

I think so. With the Pujols thing collapsing, they are desperate for that "third piece" they talked about and want to get something to announce sooner rather than later.

I think your counting Bell as the first piece. I am counting Reyes, and two of Pujols, Wilson, Buerhle.

The Marlins are the one who counted Bell as the first piece.

Heath Bell wasn't the first piece?

#rangers people were debating whether to go to 5 yrs for wilson. They likely would, but that won't beat #marlins' reported 6

You guys are ridiculous. 10 years for Pujols is fine but 6 for Wilson is crazy? They're overpaying Wilson, but they were grossly overpaying Pujols - and his contract was potentially more detrimental.

Karl Ravech tweeted about the Marlins offering CJ Wilson a 6-year deal three hours before everyone else started reporting it, so maybe he knows something.

10 years for Pujols was never fine.
