January 17, 201214 yr Yes! I love this. People give this guy so much crap but he's good. Especially as a setup man
January 17, 201214 yr I'm not mad that we brought him back... I'm mad that we brought him back at that price.
January 17, 201214 yr We have a quite strong bullpen right now, at least. Overpriced in some spots, but strong.
January 17, 201214 yr $6 million for a setup man? Especially one that's working on getting his identity fraud issues fixed? I've always been a Leo supporter, but given the legal troubles and the fact that we signed Heath Bell, we should've just let him walk. I doubt we get real value for him in a possible trade at this point, and keeping him at this price doesn't sound right. But hey. If the Marlins want to pay a setup man more than they've paid just about any closer they've ever had, fine by me. Screw money.

January 17, 201214 yr We don't even know if his legal stuff works out yet. Hopefully a precursor to a trade or something.
January 17, 201214 yr Providing this doesnt directly impact any other potential signings, what does it matter if we are giving him $6m???
January 17, 201214 yr I'm fine with him as a setup man. I just never thought he was stable enough to be the closer.
January 17, 201214 yr The overreactions to this are funny. There's an even chance he won't play this season. But they had to tender him a contract or offer arbitration or else they would lose his rights no matter what.
January 17, 201214 yr Like it or not, this is probably less than he would have earned in arbitration.
