What the hell are we going to do about 3B if we don't trade JJ? I don't see Lee netting anything worth starting for a contender next year

 

 

Some people on facebook are now wondering why Dominguez was traded. Dominguez was years away from doing anything for us. I would hate that option if he would have been the starting 2013 3rd. He just couldnt get the bat going.

I agree, but we still don't have a 3B that could take over next year, and the FA market for them is barren to say the least.

I agree, but we still don't have a 3B that could take over next year, and the FA market for them is barren to say the least.

 

I agree to that as well. i think if we dont trade for a 3rd base, Im thinking you make a play and get the best available outfield or 2nd basemen and try to make something stick at third. If they are going to put Boni at 2nd that will hold that over.

I was joking with the Olt and Profar post but all joking aside if we deal a Very Good Pitcher with years on his contract in J.J. i want this from the following teams

 

Jays- Brett Lawerie & and a portion of J.J.'s salary payed off for this year.

 

Rangers- Profar (We also throw in Ricky)

 

O's- Bundy (We throw in Ricky and pay J.J.'s full salary this year)

I say we listen to any offer unless the following words are uttered Stanton, Yelich, Fernandez, and Turner.

Master of the obvious. Dismantling this team after one season is premature. Making moves is fine. Anibal and infante. OK that makes sense. Dumping hanleys contracted to save money to sign....who? Who plays third? If they move JJ the rotation is garbage. Then we rely on lomo (bad), yelich(unproven), turner(rushed), this turd we got for Hanley, whatever scrap heap scrubs they pickup. Ruggiano, boner, solano? LOL. Who on this team can be counted on to perform? Buehrle, Stanton(not really)? I'm really not looking forward to next season at all.

Your pointing out that we dont have anyone that can be counted on to perform, I know you like Hanley and I did to since he seemed to turn it around with the attitue and the hard work at the beginning of the year but in all honesty we couldnt count on Hanley to perform since 2010 for whatever reasons. Im not completely excited about what we got in return but atleast we arent paying the salary. I would have liked better on the prospect scale.

With this much interest, you'd have to be a little surprised now if JJ isn't dealt. Sure we might end up getting a decent deal I guess but I'm starting to feel pretty bummed.

You're dreaming with Profar and Bundy. About as untouchable as they get.

I think dealing Josh Johnson is a mistake, you're selling low on a guy who when healthy could command a premium return. He's an example of a guy it would make sense to keep in your pocket until next year.

He's a top 3 pitcher in baseball when he's healthy, and I believe this season is more of an anomaly than anything, velocity being down or not.

It looks clear that they are moving toward cheap pitching. Buehrle, nolasco, turner, x x. I doubt they sign a fa pitcher.

 

For the OF it looks like yelich, fa(Bourn), Stanton. That would be fine, although expect growing pains for yelich.

 

The infield looks to be...bad. Hole at third. Reyes. Boner. Lomo. Buck. Ugh. Very little power. Just...ugh.

 

I just don't see any fa that is like...OK he makes. Besides bourn.

 

I get what your saying but your assuming alot. I dont know how your getting the impression that Yelich looks to be in the majors. I havent heard or seen anything that indicates that. Who says the FO isnt getting as much pitching as the can and could still sign a FA PITCHER. Maybe they dont want to push Turner into a spot immediately.

I'd be ecstatic if we got Olt and Perez from the Rangers.

This team reminds of a university/college program. We have good young players for 4 yrs n then they are gone and we go after younger players. It's a cycle that has been going on for a while. I thought it would stop after getting the new ballpark and the way the free agency went this year. They didnt give this team a chance 1/2 season n they broke it up. If the marlins were running the Heat they wouldve broken up the big 3 last season when they started slow.

 

Think about this y would a free agent or a player within the organization (stanton) want to sign a long term deal eith no trade clause when the team has a reputation of trading you at any point. Y would you want to set up your family here n then relocate to a place u might not want to be at.

 

Couple of years ago i said I would've love to see what Miggy n Hanley could do together and that didn't happen b/c miggy was fat n lazy n bad for the clubhouse n look how good hes doing in Det. I said the same thing this year with hanley n reyes but we won't get to c it.
