yokofox33
Colon gets busted. Sort of explains his sudden revival at 39-years of age.

Michael
"I apologize to the fans, to my teammates and to the Oakland A's," Colon said in a statement released by the players' association. "I accept responsibility for my actions and I will serve my suspension as required by the joint drug program." Good ol' generic statements. LRizzle
I've got 20 bucks the next guy to get busted for roids is Encarnacion.
Admin
And this is why the punishment needs to be more severe. They don't give a sh*t. There needs to be some serious financial repercussions. They should have to pay a fine of something like 50 percent of the current year's salary.

canada-marlin24
And the best part is colon would have gotten another 250,000 in bonuses for making Thursdays start. He already collected 900,000 in bonuses this year and 1.53 of the 2 million dollar base salary. He only forfeits the remainder of the base salary and any potential future bonuses obviously. It's like they announce it now on purpose knowing he's due the bonus.

I don't really know how these things go down, but that's probably exactly what they did. when the Melky news broke the other day I read in a few separate articles that the fact he'd failed a test was known days/weeks before he was suspended. dom2613
Ive always heard/read that taking test helps you lose weight. How much was he eating to offset that?
EricWiener
Testosterone is not roids, this is more of the "stay in the game late" treatment than the "get ripped" treatment.

I didnt say this, heard this on the radio, that Colon tested positive for calories and saturated fat.

Someone posted about it on another forum I post at. Did a little Twitter search and there's some people talking about. Just rumors of course, but its something to keep an eye on. The player's union is the greatest impediment toward improving the game.

Having a high profile guy get busted might really motivate MLB to fix this.
Dr Beinfest
What's funny about that is that in the NHL, ownership/the league is the greatest impediment towards improving the game.

fanofthefish
You can add former first round picks Josh Sale TB-17th overall in 2010 along with Toronto's first rounder Marcus Stroman-22nd overall to the list of players
Dr Beinfest
I hate to let actions like this make me stereotype the kind of person someone is, but it's what they deserve.
