I don't really know how these things go down, but that's probably exactly what they did. when the Melky news broke the other day I read in a few separate articles that the fact he'd failed a test was known days/weeks before he was suspended.

Did a little Twitter search and there's some people talking about. Just rumors of course, but its something to keep an eye on.

The player's union is the greatest impediment toward improving the game.
