Thinking about jumping ship

However, I just think it's funny that when terms like blue-collar are used, all the guys are white. Jose Reyes is totally not blue-collar.

Sentence before said: "This year was the worst though because I looked out and realized that all of the blue collar players I had been rooting for the last couple years were all gone, at least when Stanton was out. "

I WIN! :weightlift

We're Marlins Fans, we all lose.

I like Jose Reyes and liked the signing but he was also a top dollar free agent and (although FA contracts can't be judged in the first couple months) was underperforming in the first part of the year. The guys I've enjoyed rooting for were at least home grown in the sense that they made their breakout years here.

Eric are you black or just a very strong supporter of equal rights. I don't mean it in a bad way but you are always bringing up race.

real fans stay with their team thru thick and thru thin....

we've had tough times before...marlins fans are among the most battle tested fans in sports...

world champs 97-03..fire sales in 97 -05...

threatened to move the team in 05...

last 2 seasons were probably the worst in our teams history...

this can only get better..we don't know yet what loria and samson will do..but i'm sure some big decisions will be made..

He's definitely black. That's why he wants Lenny Harris to throw out the first pitch.

Wow, just wow.

Ericks actually a mixed child.

His father got tired of being asked "is that cracka really yours" and found a solution.

You're all wrong about the legend of Erick.

I can describe Erick better than anyone. He doesn't even know I can. I even know his full name. He doesn't even know I know.

But for the sake of not being any creepier than I already am, I won't say a thing.

"Loyalty to any one sports team is hard to justify. Because the players are always changing, the team can move to another city. You're actually rooting for the clothes , when it comes right down to it. You are standing and yelling and cheering for your clothes to beat the clothes from another city. Fans will be so in love with a player, but if he goes to another team, they boo him. This is the same human being in a different shirt they HATE him now. "Boooooo!!!! DIFFERENT SHIRT!!!! Booo!" - Jerry Seinfeld

This is by far one of the best posts I have ever read on these boards...and I have been around for quite a while despite the number of posts I have contributed in recent years. Well put. I couldn't agree more. Gone are the days when players signed and STAYED (for the most part)

Cyggy!!!!! I am usually lurking (not as much as I used to) but not commenting - it's not like the old days around here - hasn't been for years, but I still love the team and I remember the fun we all used to have on here! I hope you are doing well! :-)
