July 31, 201313 yr Redmond is a doofus. Cishek had now given up 9 runs in 2.1 innings of 2nd inning work yet he keeps throwing him out there.
July 31, 201313 yr Gif of qualls? Was watching Joe Wests slow ass strike call and didn't see it at the game.
July 31, 201313 yr Cishek just threw 38 pitches, working for the 6th time in the past 9 days. At least Redmond must've enjoyed the grit and grind he showed! #teamgrind

July 31, 201313 yr One can only hope that the Marlins offense develops and then they, too, can steamroll the league

July 31, 201313 yr I know it will never happen, but if Loria decided to fire Redmond at the end of the season, I wouldn't say one negative thing about the decision.

At first I thought it was intentional but after watching the Gif, I don't think so.

Is there any reports on how the players feel about Red? He certainly has made his fair share of boneheaded/wtf are doing type moves this season.
July 31, 201313 yr he's a rookie manager with a team that won't go anywhere this year regardless. firing him would be retarded.
July 31, 201313 yr I don't think the rookie players have much place to complain about reds mistakes. He's learning like they are. Im more curious to what the veterans think of his mistakes. Overall im sure they like him. Despite his early faults, he seems very supportive of his players and has the right demeanor to deal with them.

Maybe the lesson here is that you don't hire a manager for the big leagues whose only coaching experience is 2 years of A ball. Being an idiot has consequences even if the team isn't competing this season. Redmond misused Cishek last night just like Girardi made the boneheaded decision to send Josh Johnson back out on the mound after a 90 minute rain delay. Being a rookie manager is no excuse for being a total dumbass.

Ii wouldn't be surprised If you think that's the reason as well. I still think they should have continued with Ozzie this season.

I'm sure that there are tons of more experienced managers out there who would have been in the same price range. I don't expect the Marlins to have necessarily brought in a big name but at least someone with more than 2 years of A ball experience on his resume.
August 1, 201313 yr I think everyone needs to calm down regarding Red's decisions. This ENTIRE season is like one 6 month long Spring Training. I think, more than anything, he is trying to figure out who is good at what, who sucks at what, who is useful in which roles, etc. He is trying to find out what everyone is made of, capable of, so heading into a season that has some bright side and potential he knows how to handle each player and decision. Some of you guys are calling him an idiot for making certain decisions, and in the short term you may be right. But I am sure every move has a purpose, because I am certain that every single great manager that he has worked with from Jack McKeon to Ron Gardenhire wasn't lying about his baseball IQ and future as a successful major league manager. Let's judge Red during a season which we are expected to compete for something.

We don't have time for this nonsense!

We don't have time for this nonsense! No, a loser mentality is WANTING to lose games for a higher draft pick. Red is not sabotaging the team, rather mixing and matching, testing, etc to find out information for the future. He is not trying to lose, actually, he's trying to do his best to put us in a winning position as soon as possible. But your sarcasm is appreciated.
