The Braves clearly thought Jose was showing them up on the Gattis HR. He wasn't but that's how they took it which they took exception to. None of that permits Jose to pimp a HR like he did though. You just can't do things like that and expect the other team to stand by and say nothing.

Wow Polly, don't hold back!

Lol. That dude is a punk. He started the whole thing. Mccann was taking care if Josés bravado from the HR. The sneak up from third on jose was a bitch move . Mccann had everything under control.

Mccann had it under control. Johnson has no business intervening

Jose can't do it but Gattis can? Gattis who's been in the majors just as long as Fernandez? Jose can't but Johnson can?

You say he can't do that and expect the other team to stand by, well they did it first, so that line applies to them.

Right. McCann was handling it. Not sure why the rest of the team reacted the way they did. That's on them.

Everyone on MLB Network's MLB Tonight just took Jose's side and said Braves overreacted and they actually started it.

They were also upset at Jose apologizing. They felt it wasn't necessary.

I think this made Jose Fernandez more popular and liked than he already was.

They're absolutely right. I don't get why our own fans don't see this. Props to jose for being the only one to handle this maturely regardless

Gattis didnt really pimp his homer, he took a peek and went around the bases.

Fernandez flat out went into ultra Barry Bonds pose mode.

Big difference. Especially when its your first MLB homer.

Gattis bat-flips and pimps HR's like he's Miguel Cabrera.

Chris Johnson should, uh, calm down a bit. I like how you could see him say "I'd whoop his ass." Yet, when he charged Fernandez, he hid behind the umpire. And then he did the thing where he pretended like Placido Polanco was strong enough to hold him back. Chris Johnson. The tough guy. I'm sure Jose Fernandez will have fun with this about two decades from now when he's a HOF'er and Chris Johnson becomes nothing more than a one-year wonder.

MLB Network kinda ripping Redmond for his post game interview apologizing and saying that what Fernandez did "ruined the whole night for him"

They're saying you don't do that. You go and defend your player. They're saying something like this can cause a manager to lose some respect from the players.

I don't know about the losing respect part, but I agree with the rest. You talk to him privately if you have to, but you definitely go out and fight tooth and nail for your player against the outside. Specially in this case when it wasn't something uncalled for and out of the blue, but in fact an incident derived from provocation.

That post game interview does make me like Redmond less. To shit over the only good thing that has happened to this team this season for a bat flip is stupid.

Redmond reminded me of McFly from "Back to the future" after Biff had been an ass to him. Grow a pair dude. Apologizing in the post game like the Braves are some almighty team. "Oh please don't hurt us lowly Marlins, we're so sorry".

I hated the way Jose looked dejected in the post game. Chris Johnson talking crap after a fly out.
