My buddy's a Reds fan and loves him. Would certainly prefer him over Mathis, guess we could platoon them & see if Realmuto progresses enough for 2015. But we won't.

November 12, 201312 yr I'm not counting on him, actually saying it would be a good idea to get a guy who could at least be "decent" and hold down the position for a while in the event that Realmuto doesn't put it together, rather than use a revolving door of one bad catcher after another.

November 13, 201312 yr Hanigan makes sense in trade, or Navarro as a free agent signing since team is looking for cheap labor. Though Salty is open to playing in Miami, the fact the team views him as beyond their budget range is depressing and not all together surprising. Team won't bid on him.

November 18, 201312 yr I'm curious to why I've heard Ryan Hanigan's name so many times around here. Isn't he a defense-first catcher who just had a really bad offensive 2013? He may not be Mathis-level bad but aren't they essentially the same player? We should be looking for a more offensive catcher to compliment Mathis who, like it or not, will be one of our two catchers in 2014.
November 18, 201312 yr Marlins won't do anything till December.. thats when it all starts Yeah but they've also proven to be quite active on or around Thanksgiving so that's soon. Didn't Beckett/Lowell for Hanley/Anibal happen on Thanksgiving day?
