Going on right now:

According to various Twitter Reports

Among those moving clubhouses include:

Andrew Heaney

Adam Conley

Evans

Nappo

Spence

Wittgren

Leverton

More names to come when official....

Nice to see they won't be rushing Heaney.

Especially since Hand, Koehler and Slowey have had good springs anyway.

17 in all were cut

AAA - Brantly, Flynn, Dyson

AA - Heaney, Olmos

Reassigned to Minor League Camp - Wittgren, Evans, Leverton, Nappo, Conley, Spence, Varner, Barnes, Black, Canha, Moran, Benson

39 total left in camp, 14 more cuts to go barring injuries.

...Brantly should be happy with his spring numbers, makes him a better option whenever we need a third catcher this year. If he keeps it up in New Orleans he clearly extends his chances in this organization.

Nothing special on 2nd cuts.

Btw, Is there anybody worried about lack of offense?

Jones, Ozuna, Salty, Furcal, Hech and Bogusevic... they are still under .200.

Nothing special on 2nd cuts.

Is this the first official "Are we worried" of the season :)

Glad to see Heaney in Jax, maybe I'll have a chance to see him before he heads up to the big team

Anyone worried about Hech being under .200 probably worries why the sun is still shining.

"Dude, I'm pretty sure that sun's been shining since I woke up. Is that supposed to be like that?"

"Um, I dunno, didn't it do that yesterday though?"

"Hmmm..."

Im more worried about furcal's hammy..

Im more worried about furcal's hammy..

Furcal's Hammy would've made an excellent fantasy team name.

Nothing alarming. Hopefully Brantly contributes at some point this season and Flynn stays ready.

Yea, I'm worried that he'll be healthy enough for Dietrich to end up in NO...

so Flynn out of the running for 5th spot. Down to Koehler/Hand (though they both likely make the team). Figure Slowey to AAA if he wants to hang out for depth.

Could see both Koehler and Hand make the team with one in the pen.

I like both really, Koehler has shown he should stick around.

Always liked Brad Hand's ability to miss bats, but he's started to show some signs of getting his control together too. So far this spring 12 IP with 15k/2bb. Sample size but good sign. The short outings of spring probably go along with the decent work he did out of the pen late last season... so ultimately the pen might suit him best.

I've been ready to write off Hand a few times with his control issues, good to see him still hanging in there.

Moons Over Furcal's Hammy

Furcal's Hammy on Rye

Nothing special on 2nd cuts.

Well, here's my expert analysis based on years and years of scouting:

Jones is bad.

Ozuna is in a slump

Salty will never hit for average unless he manages a BABIP near .400 again.

Hech is the worst player in baseball with a starting job.

Bogusevic is bad.

If you're worrying over ST stats you need to step back for a second and realize they are completely meaningless.

I like both really, Koehler has shown he should stick around.

Yea, right now it looks to me like Hand has stolen Jennings' job right out from under him as that second LHP in the pen, because Koehler is definitely in the rotation.

More likely that Hand will be in the rotation and Koehler will be the long man in the pen since he showed effectiveness in that role.

I disagree. As good as Hand has been, Koehler has been starting all spring, has dominated and also dominated in September. The fact that he is the incumbent should be the tie breaker. Hand came into this spring as a dark horse, Koehler came in as the favorite. Hand really hasn't out performed Koehler, I don't see how he can turn those tables.

Well, I'll put it this way -- you are the first and only person I've seen say that it'll be Hand in the pen if both make the team.

More likely that Hand will be in the rotation and Koehler will be the long man in the pen since he showed effectiveness in that role.

that's the way I'd go.

Is Zack Cox still on the spring training roster? I haven't been following the transactions very closely.
