Hotcorner
Stanton angry tweet in 3....2...1... no? Wild Card will be sad though. Not sure why dumping him, might've been an ok power bat off the bench or something, but okay.
Jokersgoon
one of the few power hitters we had in the minors.. interesting..
Bret Hart
After the trade, there are 36 players on 40-man roster.

MrAndMrsFish
By locking up Stanton, Jensen became expendable....better to get something than just lose him outright
Piazza31
Should have asked for a BP arm or something now.
SilverBullet
"Ok, I'm pissed." ...really though the trade is for PTBNL or cash, meaning we pretty much still gave him away for nothing. For that might as well have just kept him since he wasn't a guy who couldn't have contributed someday even in a bench role. Man I thought we were done with the fire sales ugh
jsprt14
They had to clear a spot on the 40-man

Wild Card
Seems like a rather useless move for both teams.
dim
Came into this thread ready to make a Stanton joke, realized I was beaten to the punch. But lets be honest Jensen was roster filler. I know it's easy to make fun of Wild Card sometimes but in this case I feel like he was the only one making Jensen out to be more than he really is. This also means Viosergy Rosa likely moves up to AAA to fill Jensen's spot. Bit off topic but will be interesting to see if Mark Canha is given a fair shot to earn a bench roster spot in the majors during spring training. He stepped up his game big time last year and he's able to play multiple positions. Feels like he can contribute in some way.
Erick
In other news, Jeremy Hermida signed with the Brewers. He could've been our future RF'er. How are we going to replace him?

Wild Card
Who gives a shit? Jensen is terrible. Any idea why the Dodgers want him, then?
pollythewog
Any idea why the Dodgers want him, then? What in Jensen's career, besides a few home runs in the PCL in mis 20s, suggests he is worth a damn?
Admin
Dodgers will use him as minor league depth

Admin
Not really sure where this perception that Mark Canha can play multiple positions came from. He has played the vast majority of his defensive innings at 1B and iirc he is not even particularly good there.

He has played the vast majority of his defensive innings at 1B and iirc he is not even particularly good there. He's played RF/LF/1B/3B/C in his minor league career. Just this past year he played 61 games in LF, 18 games at 3B and 40 games at 1B. You should really look up some stuff before saying stuff. I'm not saying he can fill in at SS or 2B but everywhere else on the field he could be used if needed. Thus he's a good guy to have on your bench in the majors. Admin
I did. The vast majority of his defensive innings have come at 1B. I didn't say he never played elsewhere. Just that he hasn't very much. ~75% of his time as a defensive player in the minors came at 1b.

He also offers a bit of everything offensively.
