Buyers interested, Loria says no

Featured Replies

Several wealthy people have been inquiring about buying the Marlins, but one of them said Jeffrey Loria conveyed to him that he has no interest in selling at this time, despite Miami having third-longest playoff drought in baseball.

I think he won't sell until at least after the 2017 ASG

Random question: Will he be involved in the hiring process for the next manager? Or will this be a Samsom/Hill decision. I know he has to sign off.

Season ends in less than 50 days people we can do this.

He'll be involved to some extent but that's a good thing this time around considering his desire to hire a guy with experience

So what happens to the guy with experience 50 games in next year in if the team is 6 games under .500?

I don't know. I don't have any time traveling sources yet ;)

mine says Samson gets on some stilts and manages the team

This post is silly. It is well documented many have offered to purchase the and Loria has declined. Remember he has to share the profits if sells prior to 2017. Therefore, don't expect him to sell at any time before the end of 2017.

He'll sell this off-season. just a gut feeling.

negative 7 billion chance he sells this team before Marlins Park hosts the All Star game

Who wants to guess what the first thing a new owner would do is?

I am guessing either a complete uniform/logo/team color redesign. Or selling naming rights to the stadium. Or going on a whirlwind tour explaining how he/she is the polar opposite of Jeffrey Loria in an attempt to win people over. Or dismantling the home run celebration thing. Or hiring an actual analytic department. Or beefing up scouting both in the states and Latin America, possibly Europe as well. Or quite possibly every single one of these things.
