Even if the max is determine to be around $20-22 million I think they may still offer around $18 million. Unless they just decide to sign him this year and worry about making a splash in free agency the following year. This will all depend if Bosh even plays a game next year, if he doesn't and do decide to retire then you have an additional $23 million ++ available for 2017. Although they want to make a push for Durant, I don't see him landing here right now as it is.

July 5, 201610 yr Author as much as it hurts as a fan to say, let Wade walk. I understand the whole "pay him he took previous pay cuts", but that gets the team nowhere in the long run. Kobe got "his" and look where the Lakers stand at this point. Riley and co. hate being called out, and that's exactly what Wade is doing. He's putting the strain amongst him and the Heat. In that case, trade Dragic/Winslow and someone for Westbrook if Westbrook agrees to resign. Build around him and Whiteside. The heat don't develop players (besides Wade who else?), so send off some draft picks and get back on your feet after the ugly Wade divorce.

The Deng loss probably hurts them more, especially with Bosh's health issues. In terms of Wade leaving, it'll probably just boost Dragic's #'s because he'll have the ball in his hands more. He was pretty good as the primary ball handler in Phoenix; that's how he got that contract. They'll probably be a good defensive team that looks to get out and run the fast break a lot next year. It's true that they basically have no depth right now though.

Hell the Heatles getting together wasnt even Riley really doing anything but saying yes when they all said, hey lets play together. Riley has done a shit job for a long time now in Miami really.
