What he said to Dee though is weird isn't it? In context.

Don't see anything said to Dee. What's the situation there?

"last Sunday when you came to chapel with me is crazy now bc you said you needed to go...you just told me that your last game was "the best game I ever pitched in my life" - Dee

It would be, though. #5 got unretired, remember?

So not first ever, but first ever actually worn by a player for whom it will be retired.

Ugh I hate that we're even having this conversation ... :(

True, and I do as well.

Doesn't that more go along with family problems, team problems, being upset with contract, etc... Could be a lot of things, including things that people get upset about every day. And with Jose being an emotional person, I can see him letting something eat away at him if he is upset.

Yep probably

Taking a break from baseball and forums. My email is jessebry@gmail.com in case anyone needs to get a hold of me. Peace and love my friends

peace out, sir

I think it'll hit us all a lot harder tomorrow night.

Honestly, Opening Day 2017 will be when it really hits as a fan. It'll hurt even more during the 2017 All Star Game in Miami, a game that very likely could've featured Jose Fernandez starting for the National League.

I hear you, tomorrow will be hard, Openning harder, ASG very difficult

My first post in this thread since hearing the news in the morning..

Absolutely stunned and devastated. Jose meant so much to the team and city of Miami.

This has been a tumultuous/bizarre season of Marlins baseball. Unfortunately for all of 2017 they will have a dark cloud above them.

I bought tickets for tomorrow as well as a Jose jersey. All fr the wrong reasons. But I need to never forget this feeling. I need to remember this time in life. I need to be able to tell my kids what it was like to lose this man. It's just it's own unique feeling that is just so terribly hard to explain

this sadest day in marlins  history i going miss say today jose day i crying i say this he going miss big time he nice guy off field too

do any know if marlins going do any thing at park for jose?

I'm sure they will tomorrow. I got tickets begrudgingly. It shouldn't take something like this to get people in seats. But I need to heal. This is just incomprehensible.
