Next Round of Cuts; Rosters at 33

Ellington is back to the walks again. Needs to get it together as he can be very effective.

Nice to see Nicolino perform well with the increased velocity. Let's see if it continues in AAA.

Cervenka started well but has gotten pounded lately, hence my Paco Rodriguez recommendation.

Would be nice to see Telis get a shot.

SP(5) : Volquez, Straily, Koehler, Chen and Conley

RP(8) : Bearclaw, McGowan, Phelps, Ramos, Tazawa, Wittgren, Ziegler and Urena

Catcher(2) : Ellis, Realmuto

INF(5) : Bour, DD, Gordon, Hech, Rojas

OF(4) : Ozuna, Stanton, Yelich, Ichiro

----------------------------------

Just one spot available for 12th hitter

(On DL : Locke, Prado)

This probably means both Conley and Wittgren make the team.

Yup. Looks like Wittgren and Tyler Moore are making the team as replacements for Locke/Prado on DL.

Den dekker would be an upset over Moore. I hope Den dekker takes the minor job; he looks like an upgrade over Francoeur/Cole Gillespie as #5 OFer. Hood can play too.

Conley better be #5 over Urena.

Yea it's clear Conley won the job.

Hopefully he rebounds. Was perhaps our best starter not named Jose. Proceeds to poop the bed in spring.

Telis was never making the club if Ellis was healthy enough to be on the 25 man roster.

He can play first base and can switch hit. It was unlikely but if he had a better spring than Moore and den Dekker he had a chance even with Ellis healthy.

6 cuts to go to get the roster down to 27 total. Moore, den Dekker, Barnes, Jackson, Despaigne... hmm, can't figure out who the other two guys left are but it probably doesn't matter.

The 2 catchers Ramon Cabrera and Carlos Paulino? Most likely.

Dee Gordon out a few days with wisdom tooth removed.

Also, Chris Coghlan was just released. Wouldn't be a bad pickup.

Could be. There's a group of non roster guys that I couldn't find a transaction for. I also didn't look very hard either.

Copeland is another one. He is pitching today against the Nationals.

Dunno if they are still with the big league club or not....

Steckenrider, Lobstein, Cunniff, and Garces.

I thought Steck was sent down.

Anybody knows why Copeland started so many games ? didn't he would be in the 3A rotation in the next season in the best scenario ?

Because someone has to start the games. He's not making the team, don't worry about it.

The team looks terrible on paper, but the beautiful thing about a new season is that anything can happen.

Wait until mid-May to start expressing feels. IMO. But yeah they're garbage.
