I like the M on the bottom left logo because it has movement and flows but isnt slanted, it's still standing on a flat base. Maybe combining that with the fish that's in the first logo might be interesting but remove all red or pink. 

 

 

Yeah I could live with either the original one or the currly blue one. There’s no way they are still deciding if it is to be released in November. Either someone’s trying to throw off the scent as it’s been mentioned or the 2019 date is wrong as reported. Being that Lukas said it was in the style guide for next year, I’d imagine they are trying to throw people off.

I think there were originally multiple concepts just like in 2012 and all of them are being leaked out today to cover-up for last night's leak of the actual new logo.

On creamers site theres a theory that the first one was right and the team released the other finalists on purpose to confuse people and throw them off the scent.

 

The 1st and Red M look like the same Marlin. The bottom left and top right look the same too.

 

Looks like they went w the original Marlin tweaked a bit and then tried to finish the M. Out of these I hope its the top. It lends nicely to a recolor in a few years if they wanna go to the 1993 color scheme or even dump the pink for orange.

 

 

Jeter leaked that red M abomination out to make last  night's logo look better.

 

 

The wavy M one i'm not a fan of, The colors are great though.

@rmc523 any chance you could do mock-ups of that logo on jerseys and hats? You seem skilled at this kind of thing and I'd be interested in seeing it.

 

I'm guessing they'd go with a blue hat and a black brim as the primary hat. A blue alternate seems likely to me.

That first leaked one is WAY too dark.  Why so much black?

 

- After seeing this, I kind of think that the hat logo should just be an M.  Trying to incorporate too much graphic design into the logo now feels like a risky proposition and we could end up with some trash from a google image search.

I don't like the script of the top one.  I HATE the centered marlin one.  I like the red one except for the red.

 

Of all the ones discussed here I like this one the best.  New orientation for the marlin.  Nice color scheme.  Looks like there is a gold outline which combines well.  The straight up and down marlin looks like a dead fish being weighed. [ATTACH]2221[/ATTACH]

I do kind of like how the marlin sweeps out of the M instead of an afterthought like the current abstract marlin.  I like it more seeing it on a shirt, but I'm still not a big fan of the font.

All MLB hat logos on their own are dull.  They have to be rated in the context of the whole uniform (which is why this exercise is limiting).  Nice variations.  I wonder how some of these would look with the M being white and the background being blue (which is likely how it would appear on a hat.

Yea you would but you’re also ignoring different key elements like color choice and in this instance the sleeve patch.  The only teams with ornate cap designs are Baltimore and Toronto.  LA, SF, ATL, etc.  basically everyone... has a single color letter or interlocking letters on a color background.   There’s nothing  wrong with that

All of these would work great for a sleeve patch 

 

 

The logo could stay black or mostly black if it's on a light blue cap.
