After all, the team just have no obligation to please the fans, it's just a ACCEPT OR LEAVE thing.

Why not just accept the fact that this team just doesn't want to do anything.

These are the type of posts that make everyone question your sanity.

Do y'all not remember that this team is still paying Chen deferrals for one more year, has no new TV deal, and basically signed the top CF on the market for 1 yr. $21M? And no offense to Steve Cohen and Co., but the Marlins also have the best rotation in the NL East. They also paid a pretty penny to keep Aguilar when many here thought that may not happen.

I mean, sheeeeyit, y'all are forgetting 2018 and 2019 already. THAT is what a garbage team looks like. Odrisimar Despaigne in the starting rotation, JT Riddle at short, 100-year-old Brad Ziegler at closer, Junichi Tazawa as setup man.

Yeah, the 2021 Marlins might be a .500 or slightly below team, but the prospects for a .600 team are bubbling under the surface. Just gotta be smart and patient. The patient plan, the one they've had from the beginning, has turned this team into one of the top farm systems plus the first playoff appearance in 13 years. And y'all are breaking out pitch forks because they didn't overpay for a RFer they can't even use until the DH is official.

Only one person is that I've seen.

Difference between questioning some moves or non-moves, and breaking out pitch forks. It is ok to question or disagree with some things the team does.

Ehh, I think you're overplaying the type of disappointment that most of us have over this.

Nobody thinks this team flat out sucks... I think it's just clear that we are not clearly better than anyone in the division while everyone else in the division has made strong additions and our offseason has been more relaxed. The Marlins can't win their division the way they're constructed today without the rest of the division imploding.

That's how I see it at least.

And who the hell even owns a pitch fork anyways?

While I do think most of Mrs. Ng's comments were GM talk (posturing and non-commenting), I do think she was honest in saying you can't let other teams dictate your strategy -- either your plan or your urgency.

If other teams trying to improve their team thwarts your strategies, then you've got bad strategies.

Don't even care about the ruin. I have a writing competition deadline in like 10 hours...and I am on here. AGAIN. Talking about nothing. (@freelancefables on instagram...the obligatory self promotion)

I want it to ruin me.

Slather me in flithy disgusting ruin.

I want baseball to take compromising photos of me, blackmail me, get me fired, and steal my wife...

...as long as the Marlins win.

I just imagined Rob Manfred doing all these things when you said "baseball"

That's a BS line.

Who is asking for the Marlins to change their plans? Who is asking for desperation moves? I don't think anyone is asking for the team to change their strategies.

You don't let other teams change your plans or strategies but you should always be trying to improve anyways so if other teams are making moves and you're not then you'll be the one at the bottom of your division.

Tell that to the Dodgers.

Who have done ... nothing.

Are you scared you won't be a great writer without trauma, and so you continue to follow this team? 😅

I could picture Sandy, Pablo........... Not sure who else.. maybe Yimi if he has 15-20 saves and a 1.20 ERA by All Star break, maybe..

That's about it..

It's like y'all forgot about Brian Anderson!

Umm, they are the world champs and were already the best team in the NL.

But they've done nothing and other teams in their division have improved, they're going to finish in last!

You know what I meant. But over time my point still stands. If every other NL team improves eventually the Dodgers will fall behind even if it would take a few seasons.

We're not gonna finish in last. lol

Ok.

If.. Starling Marte + Cooper + Aguilar + Sandy + Pablo + Sixto + Elieser Hernandez + Berti + Yimi can stay healthy all of, or at least for the majority of the season, the Marlins have a great shot at NOT finishing last in the NL East.

Should the Marllins lineup be something like this for most of the season:

C - Alfaro

1B - Aguilar

2B - Berti/Jazz

3B - Brian Anderson

SS - Rojas

LF - Dickerson

CF - Marte

RF - Brinson/Harold/Cooper

Top 4 in Rotation - Sandy, Pablo, Sixto, Elieser

Plus adding Bass to the bullpen and subtracting Dugger, Yamamoto, and all the other players that I can't remember at the moment that didn't really help from the bullpen or the field.

That should be AT LEAST a 3rd place finish.
