May 24th Marlins vs Phillies- 6:40 pm

Recommended Posts

Phillies come to town and we see a rematch of last Wednesday's pitching matchup.

Pitching matchup:

Marlins: Trevor Rogers (1.74 ERA)

Phillies: Zach Eflin (3.77 ERA)

Stats to note:

The Phillies score 3.91 runs per game on the road compared to 4.20 at Citizens Bank Park. The Marlins also score more runs at home at 4.00 per game compared to 3.96 on the road so double advantage, Marlins.
Eflin has allowed a career low 0.8 BB/9 this year, and didn't walk any Marlins on Wednesday. Marlins have the lowest walk rate in the NL so don't look for this number to budge much. If the Marlins are walking early, solid advantage Fish.

I will finish with a motivational quote:

Haven't been watching much, is the whole division just bad or are all the teams pretty equal and can't pull away?

All of MLB is fairly tight right now, if you really look at it.

But the division has been pretty banged up. We've hung in there.

The whole division has been pretty bad. Injuries from all 5 teams haven't helped. Still can't shake the sense that one of the 5 is gonna pull away sooner or later.
