Politicking, baby. But yeah so far doesn't look great. Even with just three consistent starters, I feel I can confidently say we're wasting one of the best rotations we've ever had.

The FO is probably thinking "Even if we waste this rotation, there's more arms coming, so no rush on anything"

MISNER

I know injuries are a part of the game, but what do they have like 10 guys on the IL?  Would those that are out make that big a difference? Probably missing BA and Eliser the most, but not a whole bunch is missing and that's not really Mattingly's fault.  Now has the team met expectations ? Not even close. Would a change of managers change the lack of depth at the Big League level especially in the bullpen? That's a no too.  If they want to go in a different direction I would understand, but I'm pretty sure this season is a write off,  I'd sell of the veterans and get a new med staff and let's see what happens in 2022

No, not Mattingly's fault, but a new manager would avoid the bizarre bullpen moves or double switching your best players out in the 4th inning for no reason, sitting ALL of the only competent hitters on the same day the day before an off day, etc

It’s inexcusable to be 11 games under .500 with a +15 run differential. Not sure I’ve ever seen that before.

With the Marlins all things are possible.*

When my daughter asks me one day, dad why do you love the Marlins?  I’ll sit her down with a smile and say, because we were the only team to ever use a pitcher to pitch hit in the 9th inning down by one.

With two outs!

Also the Reds did that when they had Micah Owings. But I get your point. ❤️

Yea I've been fearing this one lately. This rotation is ready now, why are we letting this pitching go to waste?

Baseball gods punishing us for making the playoffs with a negative run differential last season.

Thanks a lot Jordan Yamamoto.

Don’t worry, I won’t forget to mention Lopez’s BA.  That’s the best part to set her free  Raining The Shawshank Redemption GIF

I'm leaning towards phonies. "No idea what they're doing" doesn't compute with me considering how much baseball experience/knowledge is in the front office. I've said it before but I refuse to believe that Jeter and Ng think this roster is well constructed. They're not idiots.

I'm so apathetic about this team right now and it's future. I really think this is the lowest I've ever been on this team in 33 damn years. In the lowest points I've always at least been able to think better times were ahead and that kept me going but not lately.

Anyone else at rock bottom lately?

We keep hearing the future is bright, Top 5 Farm System, but now that we are approaching Endgame after the fire sale and rebuilding of this franchise, it feels like they are gonna screw this all up and we trusted a process for nothing.... This fan base has been fucked with too many times and they don't seem to get that those of us that are still left are reaching our breaking points after years of a toxic relationship with this team. Not firing Don or any coaches, the rotation issues because of lack of depth and refusing to call up deserving players while we played Isan every damn day only tell me they have no intentions of winning anytime soon, Their lack of transparency leaves me with very little confidence... or trust right now.

The most frustrating part was/is the lack of urgency and transparency.  From withholding Sanchez too not addressing the fans (Jeter). I could understand the direction they went this year (not heavy into FA) because of last year’s run so whatever, fine.

If they don’t fire Don before the end of July, then that will put me under a stone. Imagine being sellers and still having Don as our manager.  This is the type of stuff that caused Realmuto and Yelich to ask for a trade.

I’ll always be a fan of our players and watch from afar.  We should have the best rotation next year so there’s that.

Don't mean shit if the team can't hit...

Not quite at rock bottom yet, but feel like I'm still on the Titanic that's already gone under and is plowing through the water quickly approaching the bottom.

I'm holding out the ever thinning sliver of hope for the offseason, but after last offseason and the antics IN season, I'm just about there with completely just not caring anymore - why should I if they clearly don't?

We were promised sustained winning, and while I understand last year was early and the financial effect of last year, the pitching is here and we need some sort of urgency.  The offseason is their last chance........though really come to think about it, the trade deadline may cement it.......with the team in freefall, they're likely to trade away their only good offensive guys - certainly Marte -  leaving us in an even BIGGER offensive hole next year, rather than showing the fanbase they care and extending a guy like Marte.

Related back to the topic a bit more - it's not entirely surprising Mattingly did better with the DH last year vs. non-DH in his Dodger/Marlin days.

I was at the game Tuesday (I vowed to not go back until they got better but it was a father son day and my boy really wanted to go so I gave in for the father son time) and I was so disgusted realizing that this team is built on "great pitching and then just cross your fingers and pray for a run or two", with the extreme lack of trying to get better when it probably wouldn't even take much to get better.

It's like being on empty and driving past multiple gas stations refusing to stop for gas, I have no sympathy if you run out of gas before reaching your destination. The lack of effort and urgency kills me.

It feels like losing 2 to 1 every game is now an acceptable part of this team's culture

I wonder how the players are feeling. Seems like a great culture was being built the last few seasons, gotta wonder if it's gonna start turning soon.
