Guy was batting .240 and he’s never seen a pitch above single A. He doesn’t grade as a 3rd baseman though.

We can include BA in the sea as well. I’m fine with rolling into next year with LB, De La Cruz, a band aid fix like Hunter Renfroe if he’s available and somebody like JJ or Peyton Burdick being eased into the lineup. As long as we add a bat, improve catcher, and add a closer.

He is also a plus defensively. Just because we remember the rough errors, doesn't mean that he doesn't grade solidly overall in the field. I would not surprised if he has been playing hurt all year. I don't see the reason to give up on him. And despite the hot streak, I do not start Brinson and DLC over Andy if you acquire a 3B.
August 15, 20215 yr An idea. If we were to, somehow, sign a Kris Bryant type to play third ... What about Andy getting 4-5 starts a week and moving around the field? I'd feel comfortable having him be a utility fielder (especially over Isan although he's not been ... terrible?), plus Andy can play more spots (1B, 2B, 3B, RF at the least, could probably even play LF). Could work out for platoon situations, giving guys a day off (if actually needed, no Donnie days off), etc. It's an idea. I'm also fine with him just being out starting 3B for a hot minute. 🙃

He double switched out the best hitter in baseball (Lewis Brinson) yesterday relatively early in the game. Today, both Aguilar and Jazz hit home runs. Bet one of them gets tomorrow off.

Check the box score for how many AB's he had. Also, Sierra replaced him in CF. You'll see them both listed as CF in the box score.
August 16, 20215 yr No big deal, but for what it's worth -- Brinson did stay in the game on Sunday. Alfaro moved to left field, So Brinson moved from left to center late in the game - replacing Sierra. But it was a moot point -- since after the switch, Brinson never made it to the plate again. (But at least his bat was kept in the lineup had they needed it).
