The other benefit is that if he goes off he becomes VERY tradable because his deal is so short and not too expensive for most Serious teams. That was a no brainer signing on that short term of a deal for a guy who can play the OF and still get on base and does have power potential if he's over his injuries.

Technically Oakland was worse last year.  But we were last every year before that back to 2018 when they stopped doing Loria's fake numbers.

 

That Conforto deal is basically a 1 year deal. It's still absurd that we can't even get someone like that down here.

I'm assuming at this point that we maybe get a trade where they trade away one of those starters for prospects and that is probably the extent of the offseason moves. There's nobody really left on the FA market besides guys who are pretty much cooked like Hosmer.
