January 20, 20233 yr I said it over a month ago but Pablo is really a good #3 in a rotation. He is NOT a true #2 pitcher except when 'evaluated' by homer types. Salas...eh....if that what it took to actually get a piece that makes SENSE in this lineup then oh well, I'm good with it. There are those on here that would have cried had the Marlins parted with Bleday, Meyer and Jesus Sanchez for Reynolds last season and we all saw how that played out. Salas is likely a few years away still. Hoarding him does very little to help this franchise and he's still an unknown and he still has a hole in his swing. This was a very good trade and helps out both teams. Arraez>Pablo

January 20, 20233 yr The only part that bothers me is that MLBTR had it as “TWINS acquire Pablo Lopez” rather than “Marlins acquire The reigning batting champ”. The marlins had to send three guys to get him, he’s clearly the most important player in that trade. It doesn’t matter, but it’s those little complexes you pickup a long the way as a marlins fan lol
January 20, 20233 yr Got to give the Marlins props* here. Remember there were talks about trading Pablo to the Yankees last year for Aaron Hicks. This trade seems much better than that one. *Already imagining @SilverBullet saying something like "Do you work on a movie set to have some props to give them."
January 20, 20233 yr Instantly becomes my favorite player on this team. This guy is going to be the best on-base low-K guy we've had since freaking Nick Johnson.

I am going to finally give Ng some kudos on making the lineup much better balanced. Hopefully Skip is actually a good skip too. I might just have to give them a month of watching to see if they are indeed better as they should be. Man, I LOVE seeing Arraez on this team! Now go get one more impact bat!

That article on MLB trade rumors was written by a journalist by the name of Steve Adams. Take a look at location. More than likely a Twins fan, or at least very fond of the Twins. Makes sense that he would state the trade in a positive light for the Twins, in much the same way that I would expect someone like Joe Frisaro to write that in a positive light for the Marlins if he were working for that website.

January 20, 20233 yr How could any Marlins fan hate this trade? Eury would have been an overpay. Salas isn't some blue chip can't miss prospect. Would have been nice to keep him but if that's the only addition to make this deal I see zero reason to get upset at that. Especially with our track record of bust prospects. In my eyes this is more of a "thats all we had to give up?" considering what our needs were. Very happy with this move.

January 20, 20233 yr Arraez 1B Segura 2B Chisholm SS Soler LF Cooper DH Wendle 3B DLC CF Garcia RF Stallings C This is how I see it. They really do need one more to replace one of the OFers.
