I really should ban you for this.

What's wrong with saying "The MLB"?

I will use it in a sentence.

I wonder who had the most RBIs in The MLB last year?

Because it's wrong.

The NFL, the NHL, and the NBA work.

"The MLB" does not.

HERE'S WHY!

The final word of those acronyms.

"The League." (x2)

"The Association."

"The Baseball."

Which one doesn't make sense here?

it's actually RsBI, because "runs" is plural. Not a lot of people know that. brb, posting this from an ATM machine after putting in my PIN number.

I read it as "Runs Batted In" these days so I don't care about that.

The whole post I wrote was facetious. Of course "The MLB" is incorrect, I was just playing along and made the joke the I was using it in a sentence, which would technically read as "I wonder who had the most Runs Batted Ins in The Major League Baseball last year?"

You never get my jokes.. Dating back to the classic Vesia ones of 2020. 😂

The WBC has a schedule, it will end when it ends, why are you rushing it? It's a great thing and MLB is boring as heck right now with the usual spring training stuff. If the WBC was overlapping with the regular season than yeah but nothing wrong with it now.

Of course I know when it would come to an end and I just can't wait for it, I said before I'm not interested in these non-MLB games and that's it.

Is it just me or have the marlins no played. Spring training game in weeks

I didn't even notice a difference.  The same amount of runs have been scored either way.

Ok so enjoy the Spring Training games in the mean time, the WBC isn't preventing those games from happening.

I can't wait for the NBA season to end so that I can watch the Marlins games.

To further stir the pot, in this context, "THE MLB" would work, because it'd be "the MLB season"   haha.

Anyone who says the MLB and tries to defend their position should be banned from ever using the internet again.

See, "the" belongs there. It doesn't belong before MLB. "I am a fan of THE Major League Baseball". NONSENSE!

Friend of mine asked about this and said he thought MLB stood for "Major Leagues of Baseball" - in which case, that'd make sense! "The Major Leagues ... of Baseball."

Should tell Manfred to change it so we can all live happily ever aft-- and Manfred changed the balls again.
