August 1, 20233 yr Hahahahaha every year with the Marlins at the trade deadline we always hear about talks about trades that didn’t work out because the sides could never agree. Yesterday I mentioned that the Yankees wanted either Cabrera or Garrett for Torres. I actually misread the article, turns out that the Yankees allegedly wanted Cabrera AND Garrett AND two prospects in exchange for Gleyber Torres. Forget that. Maybe a straight up trade for Garrett for Torres might be pushing it, but would be fair. But no way are the Yankees getting Cabrera and Garrett and two prospects. F off with that.

I've also heard that was a joke taken too seriously. Maybe they're still talking with a more realistic ask.

August 1, 20233 yr yeah that's the problem. It's not six yet, but a lot of discussed players are gone or are about to be gone. A lot of those teams are in direct competition with the Marlins.

August 1, 20233 yr Have any of you guys personally seen a trade at the trade deadline where the two teams that traded also happened to be playing that same day. Was just thinking how funny it would be if the Marlins and Phillies made a trade right at the deadline (hopefully for Phil’s to get back Segura) and the players were on the field practicing and then get notified to go pack their stuff and bring it over to the other teams dugout and clubhouse on the other side of the stadium.
