August 1, 20233 yr The other hilarious take is that these trade deadline acquisitions could have easily been had months ago but the GM was too stupid to actually wait until the deadline.

I hear ya......I will say the difference here is that Kim has already made 2 moves, whereas in the past she'd done nothing to this point IIRC, so at least there's some hope that with those two moves "out of the way", she'll be able to focus on more important upgrades today.

August 1, 20233 yr Cubs Padres and I guess Yankees thinking they're buyers has really screwed this deadline up. But to me, middling teams like that upgrading for an outside shot is more reason why the Marlins, who have an actual realistic shot, absolutely need to upgrade. Why waste the chance?

Oh I know right.......Lou keeps saying that too "they should've done this weeks ago!!" ......uh......the other team wants to know if they're for sure in or out with the extra wild cards before doing moves.....and teams with pieces want to wait until buyers are more desperate with the deadline looming.
