I said it before and I'll say so again, Puk reminds me too much of AJ. Ramos for me to ever be comfortable with him closing. He seldom has 1-2-3 innings and there's always some traffic.

Seems like this historically describes most Marlins closers in a nutshell.

Well we've had some fantastic closers but it's been a long long time

Say it clearly, only consider to extend Ng after this team makes it to the playoffs, improvement is NOTHING and makes it to the playoffs is EVERYTHING.

Some of Y’all So over dramatic. I have to keep saying it. But do you realize that the Marlins are not going to win every game or even every series they play the rest of the season.

There is still a whole second half of baseball remaining. Just take the season for what it is and enjoy the ride. If anyone expects that the Marlins will win every series or never have any blown saves, well you are setting yourself up for extreme disappointment and will be very miserable with those type of expectations. Yeah it would be great if the Marlins could be like the Braves and find ways to win almost every game they play. The fact is that the Marlins are already wildly overachieving much more than any of us expected. So just relax and enjoy the ride. Whatever happens will happen. All I can say is that just this first half of baseball from the Marlins has been much more enjoyable than the full seasons of 2021 and 2022. So I will keep on enjoying the ride of this season. Starting with the game on Saturday!

lol Skip did everything right this game, Puk just didn't execute. We were a real center fielder away from winning this game.

Why need closer ? as a manager why not just do your best to hold the lead in the ninth inning no matter how many pitchers you need to send to the mound.

I agree with you, and ironically Skip also said he wouldn't have an assigned closer and would just go with anyone.

That being said, Puk was probably the best option at the time anyway. It just didn't work out this game.

I mean, I’m not going to blame Dane Myers for what happened. It was a home run lol.

Oh for sure. Not blaming Great Dane at all. It would have been an awesome play but it's one that a guy with CF experience probably makes. I think even Jazz might make that an out.

Yeah, Beinfest had a knack for finding the random scrap heap reliever and BAM the guy became a lights out closer.

Juan Carlos Oviedo aka Leo Nunez had 36 saves in 2011 and 6 blown saves.

This year AJ Puk so far has 14 saves and 4 blown saves halfway through the season. I don’t like that ratio, got to get those save numbers up AJ!

The Marlins only won 72 games in 2011.
