What Lineup Do You Want?

Featured Replies

I was just looking at the box score and thinking about what I’d like to see as our standard lineup.

I hadn’t realized Berti has the second-highest batting average and on-base percentage as of now. What about:

(1) Luis Arraez, 2B

(2) Jon Berti, SS

(3) Soler, DH

(4) Josh Bell, 1B

(5) Jazz Chisholm, CF

(6) Jesus Sanchez, LF

(7) Jake Burger, 3B

(8) Avisail Garcia, RF

(9) Nick Fortes, C

Lord, this lineup looks SO much better than a week ago. Look at the recent developments:

- Jazz is back

- Garcia looks like he may be an upgrade over DLC, who is now a very good 4th outfielder

- Burger is sooo much better than Segura

- Bell’s upside is higher than Cooper

All wrong, all ... wrong.

Stallings, as the grizzled veteran with the leadership skills, should be leading off.

After him, we need a guy who can bunt really, really well to move Stallings to second base. For this, we are signing Greg Maddux to DH.

Third, we're going with the clear and obvious choice here. That's right, a platoon! Righty vs lefties and lefties vs righties. Sure we could use Bell here but you'll see later where we use him. So here we use Berti and Wendle.

Fourth, Bell. See, I told you we'd see later where we use him.

Fifth, we need power. True, unadulterated power. Therefore, we are signing another one for this spot. Four time World's Strongest Man, Magnus Ver Magnusson.

Sixth, another obvious one. Nick Fortes. More catchers in the lineup means more leadership. Easy.

Seventh, God. Seven is the most Heavenly number so this one writes itself.

Eighth, we're not batting anyone here in an attempt to speed up the game.

Ninth, finally, we're using Arraez. Second leadoff guy kind of thing! How does that make any sense? Anyways.

Stallings, Maddux, Berti/Wendle, Bell, Ver Magnusson, Fortes, God, [null], Arraez.

Marlins win in perpetuity throughout the universe.

I like the more old-school lineups. 2 OBP threats at the top, an in betweener power hitter who also makes contact third, your biggest slugger fourth, and then everyone else in descending order of offensive abilities

(1) Luis Arraez, 2B

(2) Jon Berti, SS

(3) Jazz Chisholm, CF

(4) Soler, DH

(5) Jake Burger, 3B

I know many will disagree here but Arraez leading off is guaranteed one at bat per game without runners on. This would be my lineup:

Jazz

BDlC

Arraez

Soler

Josh Bell

Burger

Avisael

Wendle

Catcher

Jazz is not a leadoff guy

I want Jazz to hit 2nd against RHP, and 9th at best against LHP.

I want Avisail Garcia to not play against RHP. If he does, he definitely shouldn’t hit 5th.

I also want more Berti and less Wendle at this point.

I was with you until I saw Avi in the lineup. I wish he had Segura'd him.

Replace him with DLC and we good. Or we okay.

I'm curious to see who between Avi and DLC has the better OPS for the rest of the season. Avi has been so god-awful, and DLC has been decent, but Avi looked good the first couple of games back. But yeah, you could swap in DLC for Avi.

would still like to see Xavier Edwards called up as i think he might finally be a more true leadoff type guy who can get on base and then steal or take an extra base off an Arraez hit who would be able to bat 2nd then.  That would be about the only way I'd want to see Arraez bumped out of the leadoff spot.
