And, like it or not, it's just plain fact that he's going to want to re-craft the organization how he likes it......on top of that, we haven't drafted well, and as such, have a thinned-out farm after also accounting for trades made the last few years.  It's going to take time to fix that.

Short of Bruce finding a lot of money in the couch cushions and opening the purse strings (hopefully he'll at least re-invest playoff money), it won't be surprising to see us do a competitive retool (not rebuild) this year and push harder next year with Sandy back.

That's just evaluating the situation realistically given ownership factors.  You're acting like we all want them to constantly rebuild - NO.  We don't.  But having absurdly unrealistic expectations (like a particular member here) to sign EVERYONE or it's a failure.

For this "retool", I'd like to see us sign or trade for players that can help us both this year AND next when Sandy is back....it's sad that we've always been waiting for the perfect time to do a big signing, instead of making the signing even if a year or two early - see Werth, or more recently, Seager in Texas.

And we're back to complaining about the offseason as if it ends at Thanksgiving.

I support Bendix but the idea that Kim Ng was all of a sudden a bad GM because she focused on acquiring talent to improve the team and not on 'sustainable' is what gets me, every other GM we ever on this franchise had always traded our stars for prospects. Ng was the 1st GM we ever had that actually showed she would care more about winning than making the owner richer. When was the last time we traded a decent player for another decent player to improve the team what it needed? Ng did that trading Lopez for Arraez. Bendix or any other GM we ever had would have traded Lopez for a bunch of worthless overrated prospects who never pan out. Ng traded some shitty prospects for quality MLB players, just the Jake Burger deal alone was worthy of praise. Bendix or any other GM we ever had would have never made those deals. Ng was always focused on making the team better and it might move the Marlins from 30th payroll to 29th and that was unacceptable to Bruce, and so that's why I call the sudden turn on Kim Ng and the sudden unconditional love for Bendix shilling. Because it sounds like it, you have a GM who is willing to win and then people point out the flaws, but other GMs dont even want to be in the game, they are just there to make the owner money, and supporting that can be for no other reason than shilling. The Avi deal was a miss but I would at least like to hear the reasons that deal happened, we never heard them. The Cueto deal made sense at the time, as well as the Robertson deal. You swing and you miss sometimes. Our other GMs and Bendix will never swing tho, they will just sit in the batting box hoping to take a walk so they can never get blamed for making a mistake. That's what I like about Kim and what (SO FAR, i get it more 'time is needed') i don't like about Bendix or any other GM so far. I guarantee you by now if Kim was here a Arraez and Luzardo extension would have been done. Nobody ever wants to talk about the Luzardo deal as well that she made trading half a meaningless season of Marte for him, that's the deal Bendix would dream of but he will never have made.
