I love Alex Ferrer's tweets but it's for the comedy... he's a serious Marlins fan but his tweets are 95% ball busting jokes like many of us do here. He loves Troy Johnston but he knows the guy is just a whatever minor leaguer. Don't take that guy's tweets as the gospel.

Nothing wrong with Hampson as a role player but Stallings was not a major league caliber player on a team that's meant to contend so he absolutely needed to go if they were serious about trying to win again.

You gotta love Stallings as a person because the team genuinely seemed to enjoy him on the roster but man he nowhere near what he was in Pittsburgh when we traded for him. I like that Bendix is immediately going about looking for upgrades at weak spots. I feel like if roles were reversed Kim would still be looking at who could be GM and waiting to figure that out before working on a roster. So far Bendix seems to be capable of doing more than one thing at a time which is nice.

Yeah, he was overused but he was a pretty solid addition last season. Great utility guy to have on a team. He'll get picked up fairly quick by another team. 

We probably already got the best of Hampson though. If he had stayed I'd bet he would have digressed because he wasn't great before this year anyways. Just saying I think he's replaceable and I won't complain if he's gone.

This was also kind of my assumption. I mean it's possible he will repeat or get better but history is not on his side. He's still a utility guy anyway and there will be others available. 

I want Jon stays and I know Arraez also wants him to stay.

I was thinking Troy could have had a chance to earn a 26 man spot in Spring Training. It's possible he does so in the next couple weeks for another team, but that's fine. If he does, so be it.

Bell to DH, Johnston at 1B was one of the configurations I was thinking of for 2024.

 

If another team wanted Johnston, he probably would have been traded at the deadline, if that eases anyone's minds. Lol. We may still have him for '24, who knows!

Yeah he has a lifetime slash line of .241/.305/.371. I highly doubt he replicates what he did here this past year.

for sure, most of the team did set one of if not their personal bests this year with brant brown which is why even tho we didnt score much, i would have loved to keep him here working with our players. would have liked to keep hampson tho as we often get rid of players trending up but keep the ones trending down. he wasnt anything special but he had some clutch hits and had potential to steal lots of bases with his speed if we were ever going to run. could play anywhere on the infield or outfield as well, did everything asked of him. but yea i guess role players can always be replaced.

I doubt they acquire either one but I'd prefer Burnes there. Bendix would probably prefer Glasnow. Bruce would prefer neither.

Glasnow's 2024 salary is much higher than Burnes, so unless the Rays share a big portion of that 25MM I think Burnes is a much more realistic option as a one year rental.

Correct but it really does make a lot of sense to get a big arm on a 1 year deal if possible since Sandy won't pitch. 

It'll end up being some version of Cueto though
