Jesus Sanchez vs. Bryan De la Cruz

Who is better? Superficially, I considered BDC to be the better player. I took a closer look at the stats and the new fancy stats that you young whippersnappers use favor

Sanchez. Apparently, BDC is considered a huge defensive liability.

So if someone put a gun a to your head and said which player will be in your outfield next year.

A} BDC

B} Jesus

C) Go ahead and shoot

Sanchez is the superior all around talent in my opinion.  I'm not an advanced stats guy, BTW.

For me, DLC is a valuable 4th OF.  The problem with Sanchez is that they don't let him hit against left handed pitching.  I wish they would give him a shot but they seem unwilling to thus far.  At least he's on the better side of a platoon.

I think Sanchez definitely has a higher ceiling to reach in terms of talent for sure. If DLC could just be consistent he'd be a very very good bat in a lineup (as a spot start OF or even a DH). DLC took strides last year and was more consistent but so was Sanchez (especially second half).

The annoying thing here is neither of them have really wrested a full time starting role from the other.  Sanchez also plays better D but man he can be a fucking space case at times too. He just seems like a goofy sob and hasn't matured yet (not in the same vein as Jazz not maturing though) - stuff like calling guys off a fly ball etc still seem to elude him and he's been at this for awhile.

It's really a tossup imo. Overall, I feel more comfortable with DLC getting a key at bat than I do with Sanchez at this juncture though.

Oh this thread is misleading, I thought they were gonna fight each other, maybe in a cage.

wait there isnt a Jesus Sanchez and a Bryan De La Cruz cock to participate in a cock fight?

False advertising!

Sanchez is the better player, but he goes through too many peaks and valleys. DLC is more consistent.

I'm taking Sanchez because he is the superior talent, but he needs to do it over 162 games rather than in spurts.

Eh I think he's a really good fourth OF. Saying he's fourth at best implies that he doesn't even really belong on a major-league roster.

He’s a pretty bad defender, doesn’t walk a lot, doesn’t hit for average and has no speed. He can hit 20 dongs and with some doubles but that’s all he’s really good for

Surprisingly his home splits were pretty good last year tho

No saying he is a 4th OF implies he shouldnt be starting for more than 80 games a season at most, probably more like 60-70 tbh.

Steamer projections have him a 1WAR player next year which isn’t terrible. Maybe he’s got a 25-30 hr season him. I guess we better hope so since he’ll be a starter this year

Sounds like you should become an assistant GM of marlins

In fairness, just one homer, BUT, hitting near .300.

Jeezy, almost strictly against righties, leads Fish Team in average around .320. 2nd in RBI. Etc.
