Are we really planning on going into the season with Avi as a starter?

We have for some reason for the last couple years.  Why not try again ??

What's the definition of insanity - trying the same thing over and over hoping for a different result?

he's good once every 4 years...so next year when they finally just eat the cost of his contract and release him he'll go on to have a great season for whichever team signs him

Sounds like a Marlins thing to happen.

We got any velo numbers from folks yet? Bender?

I haven't thrown anything yet.

Shut up, Das.

I see Xavier Edwards is only listed as an infielder and not in the OF at all, I guess his chance of being a regular is not going to happen.

Once again for another year again the Marlins have way too many SS. 😂

Amaya,

Anderson

Xavier Edwards

Jon Berti

all listed as SS on the roster..

and Tristan Gray is making a strong showing and funnily might end up being the best option at SS but knowing the Marlins even if he hits 10 HRs and over .300 in the spring he’s most likely gonna be in AAA.

The SS job is TAs m8

Yeah I know.. just saying..

Also technically Jazz is a SS and actually should be there at SS with TA at DH and Dane Myers at CF.

Put Gray at third, Burger at first, Bell DH.

Shut up, Das.

I think if the Gray has a strong spring Marlins should find a way to put him in there. He just seems like a guy who if stays healthy would be a legit 20-25 HR guy.. he might only hit .235 but I mean 25 HRs could be useful.. that’s basically Bell and Burger type numbers. He just bounced up and down with the Rays for years not really getting a shot for a full season in MLB ABs.

and while I’m not a fan of platooning DH like the Marlins did last year with Gurriel and Cooper and I would prefer to see a full time DH person like most teams have. But hey if it will get Gray in the lineup.. even with platooning with Mancini or Bell at DH or something, it would be worth trying maybe.

Eh. I think the Braves fans will still only come to the Braves series.

I really think the Marlins should use Burger as a great marketing tool. Like partner up with some burger place or fast food chain and make a deal like “If Burger hits a Homerun in this game use your ticket stub to get a free small burger from…”

Probably because of inflation they wouldn’t do it.. because now even the cheapest basic burger at Mc or BK is around $1.99 or so..

It’s not like the old days where every fast food place had a solid basic hamburger for $1 or less.. man.. we were really spoiled back in the day with that Wendy’s .99 menu. Jr Bacon Cheeseburgers for .99! And also who remembers when McDonalds had those signs on the window with “.29 hamburger and .39 cheeseburgers on Sundays and Wednesday” 😂

The crazy thing about it is that I can literally remember in 2010 going to Wendy’s and their .99 menu.. and bringing a bunch of spare change from my cars.. like nickels and stuff and getting a baked potato and salad for a couple of bucks. Crazy thing is that 2010 wasn’t even that long ago relatively speaking..

I’m starting to feel like an old man.. in a few years when at the fast food places the value menu will be the $5 each.. I’m talking like  “only $5 for a small hamburger or a drink or a small fries!” I will be like “back in my day everything cost $1” just like when we were all young and heard stories of “back when I was young I went to the five and dime store..” 😂

And shut up, Das.

Shut up, SirFishFan.

And shut up, Das.

I was confused by this entry on MLB.com which makes it look like MLB career stats, even though they have a ton of filters which defaults to spring training stats on his mlb.com page. I just briefly glanced over it this morning and honestly had never heard of Tristan Gray until today.

Perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick to judge and realize that people can make mistakes and misread things.

Man. Being able is on order a dozen cheeseburgers from McDs as a teen late night with your buds for around $6 was amazing.

Plus $5 would get you 6 gallons of gas haha

You could literally eat and drive around all night listening to a mix tape for around $10 with your crew

Yeah I’m starting to think like late 90’s is going to be like the last truly great era in history.. at least as far as being alive here in US specifically.

I mean I was just a kid in the late 90’s but I feel like there was that sweet spot in history from like around ‘96 -‘01 when things were pretty great.. of course I was just a kid back then so obviously life was going to seem easier anyways.. but I mean even as an adult during that time life was pretty sweet economically speaking.. gas was consistently under $1 a gallon.. and in many cases a constant .79-.89 per gallon average for a couple of years at least where I lived at the time, restaurants were cheap af.. fast food was an affordable option especially for family outings could feed a family of 4 very well for like $20 total with 2 kids meals and two Big Mac combos and throw in some apple pies and ice creams for desert and probably still less than $20 total. 😂

Of course every generation thinks there’s was the best.. but I have to say looking back late 90’s just might be the best in the past 50 years.. stable economy at the time.. cheap prices… in the sports world still Michael Jordan around and the McGwire/Sammy Sosa Hr race. The internet right on the cusp of becoming mainstream but still with mainly dial up so it wasn’t an obsession/necessity like today and not really any social media.. just like AOL chat rooms and games. 😂

Of course.. older people might say the 80’s might have been better overall.. wasn’t really alive in that decade so I can’t say for sure. 😂

Jazz is significantly better at CF than he has ever been at SS.
